Nina-Jane Persing, 83, from Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away on December 5, 2023. Born on March 18, 1940, in Camden County, NJ, she was the daughter of Nina Jane (Park) and Walter Thomson. Renowned for her exceptional baking skills and a profound love for sweets, Nina-Jane was often spotted with pockets brimming with cookies. Her natural ability to forge friendships meant she knew the stories of almost everyone she encountered, from the grocery store checkers to their families. After a remarkable career in Real Estate as the owner and broker of record at ERA Designs For Living in Old Bridge, NJ, Nina-Jane retired. Her impact in Central New Jersey made her a household name. Devoted to her family, husband, and faith, Nina-Jane adored Jesus and cherished her time at the beach, instilling that passion in her children. Survived by her beloved husband, Norman Vincent Persing, Sr. , brother, children Pamela Donovan, Diane Wade, Sharon Peterson, Norman Persing, Jr. , Craig Persing, Kenneth Persing, Gerald Polec, Julie Huff, Elizabeth Davis Hoeper, her grandchildren and extended family. Her life will be commemorated at Jackson Baptist Church, 360 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527, where relatives and friends can pay their respects from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023. "Emil Patrick Fiore, 86 years old, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Tallwoods Care Center in Berkeley Township, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Frank and Nicolina Fiore, he resided in Staten Island before moving to Lakewood 20 years ago. Emil was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1961 to 1965. He was a minor league baseball player, having played for the teams affiliated with the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants. Prior to retiring, he was a driver for UPS for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going out to dinner, the racetrack, and Atlantic City. Emil was predeceased by his brother, Frank, in 2022. Surviving are his two daughters, Chris Hirschy and her husband, Fran, of Manahawkin, and Stephanie Cunningham and her husband, Richard, of Point Pleasant Beach; five grandchildren, Jamie, Christopher, Alyssa, Richie, and Natalie; and two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Nicolette. Martin Dwulet passed away at the age of 82 on November 22, at home with his wife and children by his side. Marty was born in 1941 in Paulsboro, NJ to the late Joseph and Violet Dwulet. He grew up in Lakewood, NJ on the family farm. He attended St. Mary's Academy and Lakewood High School, where he played basketball, golf, and baseball. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in Korea. He attended college at Manatee Community College and The University of Florida. After school, Marty worked in Manhattan where he met his wife Mary. They spent their first few years as newlyweds living in the city, and then moved to NJ and started their life on the farm. Marty and Mary continued to grow the family farm and added a store and greenhouses. He was passionate about everything to do with farming, often chatting with other farmers, taste-testing fruits and vegetables, and putting anyone and everyone to work on the farm no matter their plans for the day with his famous line, "Jump in the truck, we're going for a ride!" Marty was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He and wife Mary were married for over 54 years. He loved spending quality time with their children and grandchildren, whether driving around the farm, going out to breakfast at the Regent Diner where they kept his personal supply of Taylor Ham safe in the cooler, or reading the newspaper and enjoying Kohr's at the Point Pleasant Inlet. He loved to golf with friends. He also loved to travel, was spontaneous and always up for an adventure, whether dropping by NYC for a hot dog or flying to Poland to test the pierogis and look up his roots. Marty was predeceased by his son Marty Jr. He is survived by his wife Mary, their seven children, and 18 grandchildren. They include grandson Connor; daughter Ellen Hall (Steve), and grandchildren Brennan, Shawn, Ryan, Colin, and Kate; daughter Theresa Ebinger (Todd), and grandchildren Daniel, Sarah, Megan, and James; daughter MaryBeth Walsh (Thomas), and grandchildren Allie, Jack, and Anna; daughter Katie; son Paul, and grandchildren Joe, Violet, and Rita; daughter Christine Bonds (John), and grandchildren Caroline and Jack; and daughter Laura McKirgan (Mike). Marty was the oldest of three children. He leaves his siblings, Richard and Barbara, and many nieces and nephews who he was very fond of. His viewing will be scheduled for this week, please check back to this website for updates. There will also be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated for him in the Our Lady of Guadalupe-St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
