On Saturday, June 18, 2022, Vickie Rogers passed away at home after a valiant struggle against COPD and emphysema surrounded by her wife and family. Vickie was born to Orville and Jane Rogers of Ranger TX. She lived in Breckenridge and Longview, TX before moving to Springfield, MA. She was employed as Maintenance Supervisor at Mulberry House Condominium for many years. Prior to moving to Massachusetts Vickie played for the Texas woman's softball league as a catcher for 22 years. It was a huge honor that her team, called "Show Ring", was given an honorable mention in the Softball Hall of Fame. Vickie's athleticism was renowned, from Barrell jumping, Cattle Roping, racing in Bicycle events and participating in Bowling Leagues. Vickie was a skilled craftsman that embodied a variety of the arts, wood carver and wood working, painting, and weekend Domino competitions. She was also a skilled chef specifically in Mexican cuisine. Vickie and Marjorie enjoyed their yearly Halloween vacations to TX to visit family and friends and where she was named the family Pumpkin Carving Master. Vickie leaves behind her wife, Marjorie Drummond and her daughter Jill (and Cody) Lawson of Baton Rouge, LA and their children Morgan and Wyatt. Her stepchildren, Veronica Barry, Kelly Harold and step grandchildren, Alyssa, Savannah, Tyler and a great-grandchild, Emrys. She also leaves behind her mother Jane Rogers, and her sisters Liz Boggess of Burnet TX, Tammy Carey and a brother Rocky Rogers of Breckenridge, TX. As well as her many in laws, nieces and nephews whom she greatly adored. She leaves behind many members of her extended family and her good friends, Tish and Debra Brill and Mary and Terry Connolly and Theresa Harris. A Celebration of Life gathering will be hosted at Mulberry House at a later date and the details will be posted on Facebook and in the Mulberry House Lobby. In Vickie's memory and in lieu of flowers, a donation to Second Chance Veterinary Clinic at 67 Mulberry St, Spfld, MA 01105 would be greatly appreciated.
