Vicki Lynn Lentine, 76, of Mishawaka passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023 Vicki was born in Mishawaka, IN on November 19, 1946, to Harrold and Alma (Schroeder) Wallock She is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Wendy Lentine and Bridgette Lentine; brothers, Jim Wallock and Harry Wollack; and sister, Sue Barclaey Vicki is survived by her former husband of 28 years, Angelo Lentine; daughters, Shellie (Troy) Lentz and Jaimi (David) Wood; grandchildren, Christian (Ashli) Lentz, Brandon Lentine, Allison (Ian) Cruz, Haley Wood, Joseph Wood, and James Wood; great grandchildren, Sienna and Roman Cruz; sisters, Sandy Harber and Brenda Grubbs; and her caregiver, Luella Shorey Vicki worked at AM General for over 20 years Vicki embodied this throughout her life and instilled this in her children Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? Joe Spangle Obituary Joseph "Joe" E. Spangle, 40, of Argos passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at Saint Joseph Health System-Mishawaka after a hard fought battle with cancer. Joe was born on June 17, 1983 in Warsaw to John and Anita (Bontrager) Spangle. Joe met Anika on a missions trip to Oklahoma in July of 2013. Soon after returning home they started dating and were married on December 21, 2013 sharing just shy of 10 years together. Joe was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved fishing, making jokes and could grill a mean steak. He had a strong faith in Jesus and left a legacy of trusting God, no matter the circumstances, in his children. Together they had 7 children; Jaxon, Linkon, Temperance, Paxton, Gideon, Solomon, and Octavia. Joe is survived by his wife Anika Spangle, his mother Anita Spangle, his children; Jaxon Spangle, Temperance Spangle, Paxton Spangle, Gideon Spangle, Solomon Spangle, and Octavia Spangle. Also surviving are Joe's siblings; Spring (Dave) Jorgenson, Amanda (Mike) Purvis, Heather (Josh) Holbrook, Brent Spangle, Scott (Diana) Spangle, Dennis Spangle, and John Spangle as well as Jason (Tara) Menting and Dana Menting, in laws Gerald (Carolyn) Menting and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Friday December 15th at 6pm at Church of the Heartland in Plymouth with a dinner to follow. Larry Humes Obituary Larry R. Humes, aged 74, of Ora, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on January 19, 1949, to the late Cecil A. and Margaret L. Humes, Larry's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, hard work, and family devotion. Throughout his life, Larry was known for his unwavering commitment to his family. He was a cherished husband to Sharon Humes and a guiding presence in the lives of his stepchildren, Debbie Miller, Cheryl Miller-Wright, Mark Miller, and Karry Wagner. His influence extended to his step-grandchild Katlyn Wagner. Larry found fulfillment in his professional life through his longstanding service at the Century Center, where he led maintenance efforts with diligence and pride. His work ethic was matched only by his love for his family, which remained his most precious interest until his final days. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat of Palm Desert, California, and Betty Thorn of Arizona. His brothers Chuck, Paul, and Jim Humes preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of brotherhood that Larry held dear. Larry R. Humes will be remembered as a caring and dedicated family man, whose life was a beacon of the simple, steadfast values he embodied. His warmth and loving spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m. Mary "Sue" MacDonald, 69, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, at Memorial Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Sue was born on September 12, 1954, to Naomi (Hayes) & Jack Cabler in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. She grew up in Texas and California as an only child, until her teenage years when her parents fostered children for a few years. She spent most of her adult life working in customer service in various industries until she found her niche in the mortgage credit reporting business which she retired from in 2009. Soon after, she moved to Indiana to be closer to her children and granddaughters. She never met strangers and enjoyed sewing until she couldn't do it any longer. She is survived by her 2 Daughters, Christina (McMullen) Rock, and Misty McMullen; her 5 granddaughters, Emily (Librado) Vasquez, Elizabeth Rock, Marissa (Koltin Bush) McMullen, Jessica Rock and Megan McMullen; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Emery Bush and Giovanni Vasquez. Sue was predeceased by her parents, Naomi & Jack Cabler of Azle, Texas. Sue enjoyed spending time with family, she had a large extended family growing up and loved sharing stories about the places she lives and adventures with family. Since family is spread out all over California, Texas, Indiana, Arizona & Wyoming, there will be a Celebration of Life scheduled in late May in Texas so that her ashes can be laid to rest with her parents in Azleland cemetery. Helen M. (Jeffirs) Rudd, 89, of Mishawaka, passed unexpectedly into eternal rest on the morning of Saturday, December 2, 2023, in her home. Helen was born on December 31, 1933, in Plymouth, IN to the late Ralph J. and Irene A. (Kennedy) Jeffirs. On October 31, 1953, she married Tom E. Rudd in Plymouth. They shared 65 years of marriage until his passing on December 19, 2017. Helen was retired from the CRS Corporation where she had worked many years in sales. She was very involved in her church, and in her younger days was an enthusiastic member of the People of Praise. Helen's faith was very important to her. She loved Jesus, and He was the inspiration behind all that she did. She also loved people and delighted in time spent with family and friends. Her caring, compassionate attitude and fun-loving spirit made her a favorite of all. Helen's younger brother Pat was born with Down Syndrome. Pat brought great joy to his family, and Helen developed a special place in her heart for all Down Syndrome people. While in their early forties, Tom and Helen opened their home to Robbie, a young Down Syndrome boy who needed a family. When Helen's father passed away shortly after, they welcomed Pat into their home, caring for him for over forty years until his death. Tom and Helen's love for Pat and Robbie brought them lots of joy and laughter in spite of all of the sacrifices involved. Helen, being the daughter of a fisherman, developed a passion for life by the water. She spent countless summer days with her children on the shores of Pretty Lake in Plymouth, and then more days with her grandchildren on Lake Michigan. She and Tom bought a small houseboat and, along with Pat and Robbie, cruised Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River for many years. They also enjoyed entertaining friends and family on the water. Helen passed on her love for life, family, and fun to her family. They all remember her with much affection and will miss her greatly. Helen is survived by her three daughters, Monica J. (Joe) Higginbotham of Mishawaka, Rebecca S. Roth of West Lafayette, IN, and Kathy M. Rawlins of Mishawaka, and by her son Michael D. (Jill ) Rudd of Columbia City, IN. She was the grandmother of twelve and the great-grandmother of twenty-five. She is also survived by her sister Rosemary Compton of Kalamazoo, MI. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Metzinger, and by her brothers Thomas Jeffirs, Joseph Jeffirs, and Patrick Jeffirs. There will be a celebration of Helen's life at 12:00 P. M. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Coalbush United Methodist Church, 15977 Jackson Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544, with Pastor Larry Chrisman officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the church. Helen will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, IN at a later date. Jill M Weaver, 59, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully while in the comfort of Ernestine M. Raclin House, Center for Hospice, with family by her side. She was born to William W. and Jeanne M. Weaver in South Bend, Indiana on August 30, 1964. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Nancy Weaver, her favorite cousin, Victoria Rose Miller and her best buddy, Jack the Pug. She graduated from LaSalle High School, South Bend, IN in 1982. Her working life included several factories in Elkhart where she was shift supervisor, finally retiring from the City of South Bend Public Works Service Center. In honor of her cousin, Vicki, Jill was an advocate for breast cancer research, walking in the annual breast cancer walk and purchasing items that promised a donation to the cause. She proudly displayed her pink ribbon tattoo and wore her pink t-shirts and shoes, all the while proclaiming she wasn't that fond of the color. She had a deep love for all animals and participated in many activities that benefitted them. She loved Lucille Ball, NASCAR, Pepsi and the ND-LEEF eagle cam and was an avid follower of Notre Dame football, the Chicago Cubs, the Green Bay Packers and, most fervently, the Notre Dame Women's basketball team. She made it a point to attend their Pink Zone game every year where a portion of the ticket sales went to several breast cancer initiatives. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Janice (Bruce) Reaves; brothers, Gary and Jason Weaver; nephews, Jeremy (Allison) Reaves and Brady (Taylor) Weaver; great nephews, Brayden and Ryland Reaves and Forrest Weaver; great nieces, Delilah, Daisy and Millie Weaver; her aunt, Marianne Murphy and all the Miller family cousins. She is also survived by the Reaves family, Mark, Kim, Katie, Will, Joey, Grace and Tara whom she loved as her own and who loved her in return. The family would like to thank the staff at Michiana Hematology Oncology, Dr. Rolan Pascual, nurse Jill and the Ernestine M. Raclin House staff for their care and kindness during Jill's illnesses. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, with an hour visitation held before the service. James "Jim" Lutz Obituary James Anthony Lutz, age 57, known lovingly as Jim to his friends and family, passed away on November 28, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana after a long battle with Cancer. Born on July 31, 1966, in the town of Ellsworth, Maine, Jim's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched many throughout his wonderful life. Jim was a Navy Veteran and the proud owner of a successful transport company where he combined his love for travel and work, transporting RVs across the United States and Canada. A true fan at heart, Jim never missed a game when it came to his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, showcasing his unwavering support with the same zest he approached all aspects of life. He nursed a particular fondness for German beer steins, a symbol of his appreciation for the finer details and history attached to them. Jim's legacy continues through his devoted wife, Lisa Lutz of Elkhart, and his loving sons, Kyle (Kyra) Lutz of South Bend and Aaron (Kayla) Lutz of Middlepoint, Ohio. His life's joys were multiplied by his nine grandchildren, who will carry forward his kind spirit. Jim is survived by his mother Carol Martinez, brothers George (Vicki) and Jon (Victoria) Lutz, stepchildren Matthew (Cheyann) Beal, Joshua (Amy) Atwood, stepmother Sue Lutz, stepsiblings Lisa Heffelfinger, Mary Holloway, and Daniel Heffelfinger.
