Vera "Nanny" Mae Hatcher, 90, of Kountze, Texas, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was born on March, 2, 1933, in Kirbyville, Texas, to the late Jessie Cordell and Addie Alaphaire Whiteside Homes. Vera was dedicated to her faith and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Vera pursued many interests, some of which included deer hunting, fishing, traveling and bowling. She loved her Houston Astros and Houston Texans, and always made sure she watched them both play every chance she got. Vera was full of energy, she was always busy doing something, or playing with the grandchildren. She was full of determination, when her mind was set to do something, she did it, and there was no talking her out of it. Vera was always happy, her infectious smile could easily light up a room. She was a spitfire, her personality gleamed brightly. Vera was extremely family oriented. She found her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Jerald Hatcher; and her son Charles Kenneth Jones, Jr. She leaves behind her son Joe Jones and wife Judy of Kountze; her daughter Tinsey Jones of Liberty; her seven grandchildren; her fourteen great-grandchildren; her four great-great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Ross Leger, Robert Foster, Logan Foster, Josh Holmes, and Jessie Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Campbell, Luke Campbell. Friends are invited to visit with the family, beginning at 1pm, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, in the chapel of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Street, Liberty, Texas, 77575. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm, at the funeral home with a graveside service and committal in Hardin Chapel Cemetery, in Hardin. Martin Collins Bush Sr. , 78, of Kountze, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his home. He was born in Center, TX on March 8, 1945, to parents James Bush and wife Gladys Bauerschmidt Bush. Martin was the owner and operator of Marty Bush Texaco and U-haul for 34 years. He was a fun-loving guy that enjoyed being a prankster. Martin loved his family and volunteered with their FFA and 4-H projects and has raised many animals over the years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Martin Bush Jr. and wife Chrystina, James Bush and wife Audra, Mary Kuehn and husband Conrad, and Cassie Palermo and husband Cliff; a brother, Ronald Bush; grandchildren, Martin Bush III, Brandon Bush, Janie Dykes, Ashley Bush, Justin Bush, Rebekah Guillote, Carrie Foote, Dakota Kuehn, Holly Davis, Josh Palermo, Anthony Gutierrez, and Abigail Gutierrez; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Maida Bush and Gladys and JC Butler; a brother, Steve Bush; and his loving wife, Nelda Midkiff Bush. Tommy Alton Diehl, Jr. , 78, of Kountze, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Beaumont. He was born in Liberty, Texas, on January 21, 1945, to the late Marguerite Belle Norris and Tommy Alton Diehl, Sr. Tommy attended Liberty High School, in Liberty. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Tommy pursued many interests, some of which included watching Westerns, smoking sausage, tending to his garden, and collecting guns. He also had a fond love for hunting and fishing. Tommy could often be found working on tractors and other small engines, or just tinkering in the shop. He was a very hard-working man, he always made sure his family had everything they needed. Tommy was extremely organized, everything had its place and his truck was always spotless. He was also prideful in his appearance, always dressed for the right occasion with his hair perfectly combed. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Lucy Ann Murphy, Alice Reheders, and Arlene Davis; his great-grandson Carter King George; and his first wife Sandra Thornton Diehl. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his partner of twenty years Judy Carroll of Kountze; his children Robin George and husband Phillip of Liberty, Darrell Diehl and wife Lori of Hardin, and Belinda Williamson and husband Wade of Hardin; his grandchildren Megan Fregia and husband Denton of Liberty, Tyler George and wife Amanda of Liberty, Emalee Diehl of Hardin, Robert Diehl and wife Elizabeth of Hardin, Jessica Williamson of Houston, Cheyenne Williamson of Hardin and Walker Williamson of Hardin; his great-grandchildren Peyton and Addyson Fregia both of Liberty, Madalyn, Remington, and Rhett George all of Liberty, and Emberlee and Riley Diehl both of Hardin; his sister Debbie Diehl of Conroe; the mother of his children Jane Kornegay Diehl; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
