Ventura (Johnny) Reyes, Jr. Ventura (Johnny) Reyes, Jr. passed away in a Houston hospital on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 76 years. He was born on June 24, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas, to Ventura Reyes, Sr. and Soccorro Alviar. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie Kaye and Ray Halliburton and Danica Christine and Daniel Smoote; the mother of his children, Judith Reyes; siblings, Rosie Solis and her husband Roberto, Pilar Newman and her husband Bill, Esperanza "Hope" Enriquez and her husband Hector, Jessie Reyes, Chris Reyes and his wife Diane, Raymond Reyes and his wife Linda, Ortence Cowles, and Polly Varela; and well as numerous other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ventura Reyes Sr. and Soccorro Alviar; brothers, Joe Reyes, Rufus Reyes and Robert Reyes; and sisters, Connie Clark and Maria Elena Cardenas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p. m. to 1:30 p. m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p. m. with Mr. Jerome Losack officiating.
