Velma Glennis "Susie" George, 74, of Clarksburg passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, October 6, 2023 She was born on February 28, 1949 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Russell Cokeley and Lena McIntyre Cokeley She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William "Bill" George who passed away on April 26, 2011 She is survived by two daughters, Melinda Alterson and her husband David of O'Fallon, MO and Cindy Prunty and her husband Bryan of Shinnston,WV; five grandchildren, Alyssa Bewig and husband Joe, Christopher Alterson, Brett Prunty and Brooke Duda, Nicolas Alterson and wife Emma, and Kevin Prunty; one great grandson, Danny Bewig; and one brother, Mike Cokeley and wife Sissy of Spelter Velma was a 1967 graduate of Victory High School and she was employed with Home Industry Bakery for over 30 years running the front counter She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends and spending time with her family and friends She was always on the go and busy Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 for visitation on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 3:00-7:00PM Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Online condolences can be made at www DavisFuneralHomeWV com Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is honored to serve the George family To to the family or in memory of Velma Glennis "Susie" George, please

Elizabeth Virginia "Betty" Loretta, 94, of Clarksburg, WV passed away at UHC, on December, 3, 2023, with family by her side. She was born in Shinnston, WV on May 4, 1929, daughter of the late Nick Merico and Katherine Loria Merico. Betty graduated from Shinnston High School in 1947. She married her beloved husband, Angelo "Hank" Loretta on April 7, 1951. She was a cook for Notre Dame High School for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and she was the last surviving member of her family as well as a survivor of the Shinnston tornado of 1944. Betty is survived by her three daughters, Angela Fazzini, and husband, Rick, Gina Powers and husband, Tom, Anita Cottrill and husband Brian; grandchildren Dr. Brooke Conte, MD and husband, Dr. Justin Conte, MD of Morgantown, Hannah Cottrill, and Erica Cottrill, of Quiet Dell, Leah Hauser and husband Josh, Lynette Gain and husband, Zack, Joseph Fazzini and wife Rebekah, Matthew Fazzini and wife Andrea, all of Clarksburg; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank A. Merico and a special walking friend, Theresa Mancuso. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 for visitation on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant.
