Uraina Lyles Mohammed, 52, of Evansville, formerly of Princeton, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her home. She was born January 6, 1971 in Princeton. Uraina had lived in Evansville since 2016, moving there from Vincennes. She worked for T. J. Maxx in Evansville and was a 1989 graduate of Princeton Community High School where she ran track. There, she also still holds the school's record time for the hurdles. She was dearly loved and will be missed. Uraina is survived by her husband, Chris Mohammed of Evansville; son, Jalil Fellows of Evansville; grandchildren, Rylee and Kaydance Fellows; and siblings, Neil Lyles of Princeton, Desmond Anderson of Louisville, and Keisha Lyles of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Lyles and Tonja (Gordon) Khan; and her son, Raheim Bright. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Eugenia Kay Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station. Visiting hours will be held from noon until the service time on Sunday at the funeral home. John R. Morrison, 75, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at The Waters of Princeton. He was born in Princeton, December 11, 1947 to John Fletcher and Daisy (Harvey) Morrison. John had lived in Princeton for the past 46 years, moving here from Patoka where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from the White River Valley High School in Patoka and attended Oakland City College where he received a certificate in Heating, Air, and Refrigeration. He owned and operated Morrison Refrigeration for several years, worked at Potter and Brumfield, and then went to work in the retail grocery business. He was the Assistant Manager at the Key Market, IGA, Pantry and Casey's General Store, all of Princeton, where he then retired. He enjoyed working board puzzles, being on his computer, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Blaize) Morrison; 2 sons, Jack Morrison of Newburgh and Andy Morrison (Amy) and his family of Princeton; sister, Janice Godbee of GA; and 5 grandchildren, including, Ina and Beau Morrison. John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ann Buchanan Roth, Rose Street, Jean Adcock, Larry Joe, David, and Richard Morrison. There will be no visitation or service at the time. Billy "Bill" Ray Pierce, age 73 passed away on November 24, 2023 at home in Princeton, Indiana. He was born June 26, 1950 to the late Roy and Alma (Robinson) Pierce. Bill was a graduate of Princeton Community High School class of 1968. He then enlisted in the Army on May 5, 1970. He was honorably discharged on January 4, 1972. On December 3, 1977, he married Peggy D. Morrison in Poseyville, Indiana. He retired from Superior Ag in Princeton, Indiana in 2020, but continue to help them when needed. Bill was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 46 years. Omer "Sonny" Wagner, 79, of Francisco, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at The Waters of Princeton. He was born October 14, 1944 in Owensville to the late Vertis C. Wagner and Della Mae (Robbins) Newton. Sonny worked as a machinist at Snap-On for over 20 years, then worked as a truck driver, and later for the Flintkote Company. Sonny studied at Wabash Valley College and attended the Vertical Church in Fort Branch. He loved baseball, especially the Cardinals, liked watching horse races and westerns on TV, and enjoyed traveling on WRAY Radio bus trips. He also enjoyed camping at Lincoln State Park. He was loved dearly and will be missed. Omer is survived by his daughters, Dana Walls (Eric) of Owensville and Monica Sloan of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Cody Potter-Walls, Erica Harpe, Colton Sloan, and Tyler Sloan; great-grandchildren, Adaliah, Danni, Learah, Jentzen, Andi, and Ellerie; sister, Shelba Jean Lawrence of Princeton; close friend, Nina Lloyd of Francisco; and several nieces and nephews. John Edward McKinney, 72, of Princeton, IN, passed away on November 22, 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born to the late Harold Edward and Paulene (Parsons) McKinney on March 12, 1951, in Somerset, KY. John graduated from Memorial High School Waynesburg, KY in 1969. He married his beautiful wife Glenda Marlene Sims in July of 1969, and they had 3 beautiful children. He began working for Duke Energy in 1978 and retired in 2013 after 35 years of faithful service. He was a member of Princeton Masonic Lodge NO 231 and the IBEW Local Union 16. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, traveling, the casino, target shooting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Cody McKinney in January of 2021; his brother, James "Jimmy" Spears; and his grandmother, Molly Parsons. Lee Royce Ayers, 85, of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Envive Health of Evansville. He was born October 30, 1938 in Charleston, Missouri to the late, Royce Ayers and Pansy (Uthoff) Ayers. Education was very important to Lee, graduating from Oakland City College with his Bachelor's degree before completing his Master's Degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served as a pastor to many, over 40+ years and was also a businessman of many trades, including serving as mayor of Oakland City for 4 years. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and the Jaycees, and a current longtime member of the First General Baptist Church of Oakland City. "Papa Lee" was known for his love for his family, gospel music, and being an IU basketball & St. Louis Cardinals fan. Over the last 20 years, he truly enjoyed visiting with friends on the deck, at his old Kentucky home. He was loved dearly and will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Ayers of Oakland City; daughter, Sheri Powers (Timothy) of Oakland City; son, John Ayers (Shaleen) of Oakland City; grandchildren, Lauren Schmidt (Myles), Alexander Powers (Hannah), Nicolas Powers (Whitney), Kendall Ayers (Lauren), Kelise Perkins (Kasey), and Kenzie Ayers (Tristan Vickers); 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Neva Settles (Fred Cannon) and Belinda Ayers (Char Molinaro). Norma Jane Lewis, 93, of Saint Francisville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 20, 1929, in Saint Francisville, the daughter of Robert Joseph and Ruth (Ridgley) Breen. She married Bernard C. Lewis in 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2005. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family, and some of her favorite times were Sunday dinners and holidays, when her whole family would gather together. Norma loved sweets and was known for her delicious cherry pies. She always had a piece of pie ready for her kids and grandkids, no matter when they visited. Norma also worked alongside her husband, Bernard, in their oilfield business until Bernards's death in 2005. She worked hard during her life, caring for and helping provide for her family. Norma will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Joe Douglas

Joe Douglas, age 95, passed away on November 16, 2023 at The Waters in Princeton, Indiana. He was born December 17, 1927 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Floyd and Ida (Walter) Douglas. Joe joined the United States Army Air Corp in February 21, 1946. He was stationed Satoshi, Okada & Misawa on the Island of Hosaka of Occupied Japan, receiving both the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Japan Medal. He was honorably discharged December 4, 1948 from the United States Air Force at Camp Stoneman, California with the rank of Sergeant. He re-enlisted in the United States Air Force June 1, 1955, and was stationed at McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, Washington with 28th Field Maintenance Squadron (SAC). Requiring special security clearance, he was transferred to the 317th Fighter Interceptor Squadron as crew chief, working on F-86-D and F-102 Jets. His unit was awarded the Hughes Trophy and earned The Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for high combat readiness for the period of 1953 through 1956 which entitled him to permanently wear the ribbon representing the award. August 1956 the squadron was selected as the best air defense unit in the Air Force and was awarded the Hughes Trophy. In addition, the squadron received its first Outstanding Unit Award for high combat readiness for the period of 1953 through 1956. Joe was honorably discharged February 24, 1959, at Ellsworth Air Fore Base, South Dakota with the rank of Airman 1st Class (Sergeant). August 3, 1973 Joe married Janet Elliott Harbison in Nashville, Tennessee. Retiring in 1992 after 25 plus years at Potter & Brumfield, A Siemens Company, he & his wife moved to Pahrump, NV September 1993, returning to Princeton in March of 2002. Completing grades 1 through 8 in school at Fort Branch, he earned his GED in 1984 at Gibson Southern High School. Joe, a member of Bethel Memorial Church, was previously a member of First Baptist Church, Princeton & First Southern Baptist Church of Pahrump, Nevada. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, and two sons, Jon Lee Harbison (Teresa) and Jay Lance Harbison (Julie) of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, James Fritz III of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jessica Fritz of Ohio, Misty Sullivan (Kevin) of Union, IN, Jilaine Mason of Washington, IN, Cassandra Harbison of Ohio, Caitlin Haustetter of Ohio, Blake Harbison & Tyler Harbison of Ohio; great grandchildren, Ivy, Hunter and Kya Sullivan, Kendra, Jacob, Katelyn and Jiles Mason and Lillian Haustetter; brothers, David Douglas (Dorthy) of Patoka and Kenneth Douglas of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. Henry Wade Nelson, Jr went to be with the Lord, in his home, quietly in his sleep on November 11, 2023. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in both the U. S. Army and the U. S. . Air Force. During his service, both domestic and abroad, he served as a legal assistant and out of the goodness of his heart, he also served as Assistant Chaplain. Henry is survived by his wife, Joyanna, of Princeton, IN. He had three children and 11 grandchildren. John Nelson and his wife Julie of Illinois. Their children, Miquelie Davis (Jacob), Mollie Hilton, (fiance, Matthew Clerk), Maxwell Nelson (Deceased). Jayonetta an her husband Paul of Tennessee. Their children, Jack and Gariella. Charity Curry and her husband, Jim Shaffer, of IL, and their children, Floyd, Rayden, Jackson D, Nathaniel, Alexis and Jackson R. He also had eight great grandchildren. Henry was the oldest son of HenryWade Nelson, Sr and Menta Walker, both deceased. He was the oldest of nine children. He is preceded in death by four siblings, Carolyn Parkhill, Michael Nelson, Sherry Nelson,and Menetta Strobel. Henry loved to share his own love and message of Jesus Christ through his music. He loved to sing, as well and play both guitar and piano. It was truly a God-given gift as he could never read a note. He was also an avid reader. Henry's first love was Jesus Christ and he had pastored many churches in his lifetime as a minister and had a very large church family. He also had many, many friends. He was also a substitute teacher for many years, enjoying the children as they grew and learned. He was known by his students as, "Mr. May I?" He touched lives wherever he went. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 1 pm EST (Pike Time), at Martin Cemetery on S County Rd. 75 W, Glezen, IN 47567. Jacquelynn Lou Taylor, 82, of Princeton, IN was called Home November 10, 2023. She was born March 13, 1941 in Connersville, IN. to the late Clarence Cecil Brock and Virginia Kay (Roberts) Brock. Jackie attended and graduated from Princeton High School. She married her soulmate, Raybourn Taylor, April 19, 1963. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage. She attended Gospel Kingdom Church in Mt. Carmel, IL. Jackie liked to make sure the house was decorated to perfection. She was the best at giving hospitality and being a gracious host. Jackie adored spending time with her family and friends. Jackie loved the word of God; it was her true passion in life. She was the biggest prayer warrior who enjoyed doing for others. Jackie was loved deeply and will be missed.
