"Twyla Shea "Ooma" Paty was born February 19, 1968 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She began her eternal life in Heaven September 11, 2023 at the age of 55. Twyla was born to E. J. 'Pat' Paty and Wanda Juanita (Williams) Garza. Twyla spent her childhood in the Pauls Valley area. She was a member of the Pauls Valley Panther Class of 1986. She went on to work at the Pauls Valley State School for many years caring for others which grew into her life calling. Twyla took care of numerous children in her home. She became 'Nonnie' to a host of children in Wynnewood and loved them as her own. Always willing to be a helpful friend, Twyla's door was always open to anyone in need. Twyla was a talented singer. She performed at many events in and around Oklahoma and was a Madonna impersonator and a karaoke star on numerous cruise ships. She was a member of the choir and Praise Team while attending First Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Always the life of the party, those who knew Twyla surely have a funny story to tell. She was a friend to anyone in need and a fierce supporter of her family and those she considered family. Those waiting in Heaven when she arrived include her parents, Jim and Wanda Garza. Father, E. J. 'Pat' Paty. Sister, Brenda Lacquement. Sister-in-law, Carla Paty and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Those left here to cherish her memory are, daughters Autumn Paty and fiance' Brooke Foster of Yukon, Laycee McKee and husband Alex of Noble, Sierra Paty of Norman. Twyla also leaves behind her grandchildren Sawyer and Riggs McKee. Becoming "Ooma" to Sawyer and Riggs was her proudest moment and her absolute joy. She also leaves behind siblings Linda Prestwich, Nancy Maxwell (Jeff), Lindsey Paty, Adam Paty (Michelle), Pat Paty (Cristal), Jacob Garza and Michael Paul Walker and her furry companion Paisley as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Services will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. "

Marjetta Masserini, 88, of Brawley, CA, went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2023, after a very sudden decline in health. She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, on February 9, 1935, to Albert and Cordelia Hensley. She was the oldest of four children: Albert Jr. , Lida, and Nancy. At age five, the family moved to Imperial Valley, California, where she resided in Holtville and graduated from High School in 1952. Marjetta met her first husband, John Von Flue, in Holtville and married in 1953. Together they had two daughters, Cheryl and Linda. A few years after their divorce, she married John Masserini of Holtville in 1960. They had two sons, Dario John II "Johvannie," and Gregory. They remained married until John passed away in 2001. Marjetta and John lived in Holtville until 1985, then moved to Brawley. They were often seen tending their yard, gardens, and flowers, especially her roses. The Masserinis were recognized by the City of Brawley with the "Brawley Beautification Award of 1987. " Marjetta worked as a telephone operator, then for the Desert Seed Company, and later for several banks including Holtville Bank as Secretary to the president. She worked as a legal secretary for fifteen years, receiving her Associates degree in Social Science and her Legal Assistant Certification in 1978. She proudly held the office of President for the Legal Secretaries Association. She earned a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice at San Diego State University in 1985, followed by a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Her legal experience and degrees supported her volunteerism to individuals, her family, and organizations. Marjetta had a plethora of hobbies, interests, and talents which led her to own a craft and hobby store in Holtville in the early 70's, named Marjetta's "What Not Shop" where people enjoyed her crafty workshops. At home, she enjoyed sewing, flower arranging, and playing the piano for pleasure as well as for the church. Her love for flowers and nature encouraged her to pursue painting. She also loved taking photos of her flowers and family, and extended the hobby to self-developing many of her photos and entering them in the Mid-Winter Fair periodically. Marjetta was an amazing baker and cook. She won the Holtville Carrot Cooking Contest Sweepstakes prize in 1965. The grand prize was a new stove and double oven which were the "seeds" for her newly expanded kitchen. She also became the family's historian where she researched and recorded facts about family members through documents and her writings. Marjetta loved helping people, and especially her church family. She was a good steward, continuously offering her gifts of time and service which included altar care, flowers, baking and cooking, organizing, leading functions, and supporting musical endeavors. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dario John Masserini,Jr. , her brother-in-law Larry Hicks, and her brother Albert Hensley Jr. and wife Georgia. Marjetta precedes in death her children Cheryl Von Flue of El Centro, Linda Shumard of El Centro, Dario John II "Johvannie" Masserini (Monica) of Holtville, and Gregory Masserini of Pacific Grove; and her siblings Lida Spencer (Ken) of Paso Robles and Nancy Hicks of El Centro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marjetta loved being a grandmother leaving behind seven grandchildren: Amy Brinnon (Jimmy), Ivy Armstrong, Somer Wieben (Matt), Diana Lynn (Jason), Glen Shumard, Johvannie Masserini, and Brittney Von Flue; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Services will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Holtville on Friday, December 8, 2023. Visiting/Viewing will be at 9:00 AM and services will be at 10:00 AM. Graveside interment will be at Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville following church services. "Monte Mason Hulin was born on April 14, 1961 to Mack and Joan Hulin and sisters, Rhonda and Pam. He was the spoiled baby boy and he loved every minute of it. One of his greatest childhood memories was when he was allowed to attend Kindergarten. Sentinel was his home for several years with his family and friends until he went to Pauls Valley to learn how to read and write, do sign language and learn personal care skills, but he always made sure that everyone knew that his daddy taught him how to shave. He used all those skills throughout his life and eventually learned how to use a computer and operate some electronics. After he returned to Sentinel to live with his parents, he became involved with Searchlight and eventually found another family that he loved and would thrive in an environment with other special needs adults that also wanted a better quality of life. He became a Hobart Bearcat and stayed a Sentinel Bulldog, proudly representing both communities by buying everything that had an emblem on it! Monte was part of the Searchlight family for 27 years. Monte\u0027s life was not an easy one, but his biological and adopted families did what they could to make it the best life he could have. Monte\u0027s greatest joys came in various activities like dancing, shopping, listening to good music, watching TV and playing games on his computer. He was a big flirt and tried to steal the hearts of many women along the way. Loving, compassionate, smart, funny, head-strong and ornery all rolled into one. The toughest guy you\u0027d ever meet! Monte left this world on November 17*, 2023 at the age of 62 to find his place in Heaven with his family and friends that went before him. "Harold Garner Bradley was born on July 17, 1924, in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Ira and Zelaner Shaw Bradley. He ended his journey with us on September 15, 2023, at the age of 99. Harold married Kathleen Irene Cobble in March of 1944. They were married 58 years. Harold and his wife made a home in Pauls Valley from 1948 to 1997. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2002. Harold lost a son, Phillip Harold Bradley, on April 29, 1979. Also, preceding Harold in death were his parents, 2 brothers (Billy and Toby Bradley), and a sister, Ilena Cagle. After graduating in 1942, Mr. Bradley served his country during World War II. He was drafted into the Army in February of 1943. He was assigned to a new tank battalion that was being formed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The tank battalion was named the 740th. Harold was the last known living Combat tank commander left of the 740th Battalion. The 740th tank Battalion was called to combat in December of 1944. His unit fought in the Battle of the Bulge, as well, as other battles such as the Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe. His combat decorations include, Silver Star, Purple Heart, Battalion Presidential Unit Citation with one Oak leaf cluster, three battle stars, the Belgium Fourragere and the good conduct medal. In 2020, Mr. Bradley received one of France's highest military awards, the Legion of Honor. Harold was wounded in the EAME Theater on April 16, 1945, but continued to fight until the war was over. WWII Veteran Harold Bradley "Protectors Portal" (Podcast) After returning to the states, Harold was baptized in 1946 at the First Christian Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and he has been a member for 63 years even though he moved in 1997 to live with his daughter and son-in-law In League City, TX. Harold and Kathleen moved because they needed to be close to Kathleen's doctors, but doing so gave them more time to spend with the family. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a Worthy Patron and Associate Patron and he is still a member of the American Legion in Pauls Valley until 2024. Harold worked 37 years for the Pauls Valley Daily Democrat as a reporter, editor and photographer. He believed that the there was too much negativity in the news world each day, so he decided to go to the high school when he could to find the time and seek out the positive stories, take photos and share them with the community. Every student knew him as Mr. B. and loved him. He retired in July of 1986 so he could take care of Kathleen who was suffering with RA. He walked every day all the way to Wacker Park and back to stay healthy for Kathleen. He, also, decided he needed a hobby and discovered a love for wood working projects. He started making wooden decorations for each holiday. He was so proud that he received a top prize for his Christmas ornament display in Pauls Valley. He even continued in Texas in his daughter and son-in-law's front yard. The neighborhood, especially the kids, loved them and looked forward every year to seeing his wonderful Christmas decorations. Mr. Bradley is survived by a daughter Connie and husband Mike Goodwin, League City, TX; Four Grandchildren, Erik and wife Rebecca Bradley, Tulsa, OK,; Ryan and wife Rayna Bradley, Fedor, TX. ; Amy and husband Cliff O'Banion, Farmington, NM. ; Phillip and wife Lauren Goodwin, Cypress, Tx. Harold had 9 great grandchildren. Colson "CJ" Bradley, Trenton Bradley, Charles Bradley, Jess Bradley, Reagan Bradley, Jordyn O'Banion, Erin Sanborn, Carter Goodwin, and Connor Goodwin. There will be 2 services held for our beloved Harold Bradley, the first service will be held on Sunday, October 22 at 6:00 p. m. in the Harold Bradley Memorial Park (the park that was named in his honor) in League City Texas. He has requested that we take him home to be placed next to his wife in Pauls Valley. The memorial will be held at the Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, OK and that will be held on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. "John M. Sheets PAULS VALLEY, OKLAHOMA - John Michael Sheets, 59, of Pauls Valley, OK, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest City, OK, after an extended illness. John was born, February 27, 1964, in Council Grove, KS. , the son of Ronald H. Sheets and Janice K. Harlan Sheets. John attended Andover Central and Neodesha schools and was a graduate of Neodesha High School, Class of 1982. He was an accomplished student, excelling in math and science. John was also a gifted athlete in Cross Country and Track. After high school, he studied mechanical engineering at both Kansas State University and Kansas University. In 1989, John received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Emporia State University. He went on to earn his MBA from Emporia State University in 1994. John served as the President of the Kansas City Homes Association from 1995 through 2010, when he then semi-retired and moved to the Oklahoma City area. Throughout his life, John also owned and operated his own interior design business. Several of his projects were featured in regional and national newspapers and magazines. John was intelligent, generous, witty, funny, loving and a touch sarcastic. He was an incredible student and helped many classmates with their homework and projects in his younger days. Later in life, John prepared tax filings for many clients, family, and friends. From an early age he also enjoyed playing cards and games and excelled at them all. John also loved to cook and watch cooking shows and he made many delicious dishes and hosted numerous family gatherings. John spent much of his time remodeling and redecorating his many homes and landscaping and caring for his gardens. He created incredible beauty with everything he touched. He designed many beautiful projects for his family, friends, and clients. During retirement John became an avid OU football fan and loved attending their home games with his family and friends. John is survived by his loving and devoted partner, Jerald Knight of Pauls Valley, OK; his mother Janice Harlan-Steinbach and her husband, Alan, Madison, KS; his father, Ronald Sheets and his wife, Freda, of Independence, KS; his twin sister, Michelle Gifford and her husband, Harry, of Oswego, KS; his step-sister Amanda Godsey and her husband, Aaron, Pittsburg, KS; his step-brother Matthew Steinbach and his wife, Natalie, Boliver, MO, his step-daughter Abby Sarvis- Matthews, Lee's Summit, MO; his step-son Adam Sarvis, Kansas City, MO; and his grandson, and Spencer Sarvis, Kansas City, MO. John's adopted Oklahoma family include: In-laws, Jennifer Mathews, James Knight, Jeannie Heil, Jim Knight, Bill Knight and Denise Martin; nieces Angela Hodges, Brittany Zinn, Jessica Parks, Lindsey Parks, and Jayden Nunley. John was preceded in death by his partner's mother, Ruth Knight who adored his talent in creating beauty in gardening and design. John is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends and his kitty, Princess. John was preceded in death by his husband, Larry Sarvis; his brother Stephen Sheets; his brother-in-law, Jerry D. Knight; his step-mother, Marlene Sheets and his mother-in-law, Ruth Knight. A luncheon will be held at 1 p. m. , Saturday, September 16, at the Methodist Church in Madison, KS. John's memorial service will be at 2 p. m. also at the Methodist Church, with a brief graveside to follow at Blakely Cemetery, Madison, KS.
