Bruce William Dawson

Sep 24, 1934 - Feb 20, 2024

location-icon

Moore, OK

Bruce William Dawson was born in Cordell, Oklahoma, on September 24, 1934. His young life was spent doing what folks do when raised on a farm – milking cows, hauling hay, building and repairing fences, weeding, pulling cotton, and plowing wheat stubble. On February 20, 2024, he passed from this life at the age of 89. Preceding him in death were his parents, Hosey and Lorene Dawson; brothers Hosey Jr. and Olen Gary; sisters Joyce, Frances, and Judith; and children Peggy, and Gary Keith. He is survived by his wife, Alice Ruth; his children, Connie Dawson of the home, James Dawson and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, Mark Dawson and wife Jennifer of Austin, Texas, and son-in-law Dwight Herron of Newcastle, Oklahoma; grandchildren Sarah Bryant and husband Jeremy, Emily Mestas and husband Eddie, Drew Herron and wife Melissa, Dylan and Jamie Dawson, and Sophia, Grace, and Charlotte Dawson; great-grandchildren Aiden Bryant, Garrison, Braxton, and Kennedy Mestas, and Avery and Ben Herron; along with his brother, Stanley Dawson and wife Linda, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bruce was proud of his military service. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the field of Meteorology from 1955-1957, then in the Reserves until 1961. Mostly self-employed, he worked in several different areas. His varied careers included stints as a milkman, a food distributor, working in soft drink fountain sales, at a daycare, a shoe store, as well as time at an insulation business. He truly believed he was blessed in many ways even though he never had a real desire to have an abundance of money. Bruce had much greater blessings. He grew up with a loving mother and father, and siblings who looked after each other. He was a member of the Church of Christ for 70-plus years, where he was blessed to serve in several ways including teaching, some preaching, bus ministry, as Deacon, and 41 years in the role of a Shepherd/Elder. Next to Jesus, his most precious blessing was the love of his life, his wife of 71 years, Alice Ruth. Right after that, the rest of his family. Family was everything to him, and he was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Bruce’s deepest, truest prayer for everyone in his life was that they, and all of you, find Jesus, accept and obey Him, and when the time comes, join Him in Heaven. She was the daughter of Balbina Ojeda and Segundo Quiroga. Alicia was a beloved wife to Dogomar, a mother to John, Patrick, Susan, and Caroline, an adored grandmother to Kelsey, Nigel, Thomas, Nicholas, Ian, Mina, Jayda, Keyun, and Aidan, and a cherished great-grandmother to little Nolan and DaLuca. She has been predeceased by her brother, Victor "Filo," and sisters Juana "Ñata", Violeta, and Carmen. She is loved and missed by her siblings Mario, Oscar, and Rosa. Alicia lived in Argentina, England, Tunisia, Ecuador, and the United States, but she considered herself a homebody and was happiest staying put and looking after her family. She enjoyed cooking and looking after her family. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and anything that screamed home economics, except for figuring out expenses or anything that involved math. Alicia leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories, funny stories, fantastic recipes, which we are still trying to get quite right, and several artisanal items, most of them fantastically nice, and some of them a bit wonky. Let's just say that homemade jeans were not her strong suit. Goodnight, sweet Alicia. We love you and will miss you always. We carry you always in our hearts. Moore, OK

Robert Lee Tomacelli Jr. was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on November 14, 1961, to Doris and Robert Lee Tomacelli. On Saturday, February 17, 2024, Robert passed away from this life to begin his eternal journey beyond. He was 62 years old. Robert was warm, lively, loving, and intelligent. With a brain like an encyclopedia, Robert’s knowledge knew no bounds. He had a knack for storytelling and loved to talk, sharing his stories often with those in his life. Professionally, he spent many years as a massage therapist. Because of his conversational skills, he thrived in his career, ensuring the wellbeing of many regular and returning clients. In his free time, he loved to go fishing, was a great bowler, and he enjoyed watching OU football, Thunder basketball, and cheering for any team Peyton Manning was ever on. He also loved watching a good sci-fi movie. Above all, Robert was a family man who loved nothing more than spending quality time with the people who meant the most to him. While his children were growing up, he was their biggest advocate. He enjoyed supporting them through their ups and downs, always there for them whether he was coaching their sports teams, or simply tucking them in at night. His grandchildren were his ultimate pride and joy, and his entire world. The many fond memories of baking and decorating cookies together, playing, laughing, and all the fun times spent together will not long be forgotten. He also adored his menagerie of dogs - Benji, Zaddie, Sunflower, Daisy, and Nala. Robert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. As we reflect on his life, let us remember Robert for the love he shared, and the kindness he so freely bestowed on others. He will be very dearly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 25 years, Dewetta Tomacelli; three children, daughters Kristi Deason and son-in-law Bryan, and Nichole Patterson and son-in-law Casey, and son Kyle Lee; along with his adoring grandchildren Kelsey, Alyssa, Hailey, Landon, “S”, Suzi, Josh, Elena, Dylan, Catelynn, and Matalynn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris (Kendrick) Tomacelli, and his father, Robert Tomacelli Sr. To to the family or in memory of Robert Lee Tomacelli Jr., please
