Ramona, CA

Donnie Ray (Corrick) went to be with her Jesus on Monday, February 12, 2024. Donnie was born July 15, 1934, in Deerfield Minnesota. She was the fourth of 8 children born to Marshall and Hazel Corrick. Donnie was raised in northern Minnesota around a multitude of family members. She graduated from Laporte High School in 1953, and in November of the same year, she married Wayne Bennett. They made their home near Walker Minnesota for the next four years. In 1955, their first son Mickey was born, followed by their daughter, Shelly a year later. They then moved to New Hampshire, where in 1958, their son, Larry, was born. A short time later, the family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and in 1960 they had their son, Mike, followed by their daughter Rosie, ten years later. In 1981, Donnie’s husband Wayne was severely injured in a fall and passed away some time later. She found love a second time in 1985 and married Joe Peterman. They traveled together often, visiting their close to 20 combined siblings, and lived in Fremont CA until his passing in 1996. God in His mercy allowed her to love a third and final time and in 1998, Donnie married Wally Ray, whose parents and siblings had been family friends for over 60 years. Donnie and Wally made their home in Ramona, CA for nearly 20 years until his passing in late 2017. Donnie & Wally probably found the most joy together traveling in their RV. They spent many summers in the Wenatchee Valley in Washington state, where they visited and enjoyed time with so many mutual family and friends. Donnie began her Christian walk when she was in high school, and for the remainder of her years, she was a devoted follower of Jesus. Her life was most notably marked by her Christian example of freely and faithfully giving to others. During her time of living in the Bay Area in the early 70’s, she learned sign language, and this began her love for the deaf community. She used her sign language skills to interpret services at the Evangelical Free church in Fremont, and as that ministry grew, it expanded to include a separate church service exclusively for the deaf. Donnie’s faith was a constant and vital part of her life. She attended several churches in various locations and assumed leadership roles in all of them. She taught Sunday school, led bible studies, was involved in prayer groups, served on committees, and used her musical talents to lead worship. Donnie and Wally were members of First Christian church in Ramona, CA for many years, where they developed deep and lasting friendships with their loving congregation. Donnie was survived by her four children, Shelly Starkey (Bennett) of Sacramento, CA, Larry Bennett of Ramona, CA, and Mike Bennett and Rosemary Bennett of Lakeside, CA. In addition, she is survived by three stepdaughters Joanne Rodrigues (Peterman) of Newark, CA, Dianne (Eric) Mc Carty (Ray) of Big Bear, CA and Wendy (Jeff) DeKorne (Ray) of Ramona, CA. Also survived by brother Marshall (Peggy) Corrick of Watertown WI and brother Mike (Rosalie) Corrick of San Jose, CA. In addition, she left behind close to 50 grandchildren and great grand-children, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Mickey, sister Kathleen, brothers Lee, Delmar (Pedro), Clarence (Zeke) and Richard (Rick). Services will be held Saturday, February 24, at 11:00 am at First Christian Church 1970 Vermont St Ramona, CA. To to the family or in memory of Donnie Muzette (Corrick) Ray, please

On January 29th of 2024 Justin was called up to heaven to be with his father, Matthew Jones. Justin lit up every room that he entered, with his infectious humor and big gorgeous smile. He was an adventurous soul who loved exploring nature, either hiking, going to the desert with his family and friends, and surfing to name a few. There wasn't a sport that he played that he didn't excel at. Rarely would you see him without his beautiful wife and best friend Marlaine by his side. He was a carpenter by trade, working at California Closets in Poway. Justin took such great pride in his work, oftentimes telling us stories and sharing pictures of the complex work he had done. Justin is survived by his wife, Marlaine Jones, his mothers Kristi Dames and Traci Jones, sister and brother-in-law Jael and Daniel Maning, his brother and sister-in-law Jordan and Shanda Cashman and their two kids Danielle and Jayden and his younger brother Jared Jones. Dear Family and Friends, I would like to share a little about Herb’s life and our fifty-five years together. Herb was born in Germany. He lived through World War II as a teenager. He left Germany when he was 21 years old and started to explore the world. He traveled through Europe, Spain, Africa, Singapore and Vietnam. Through these experiences, he was a diver, boat captain, mechanic, pilot and a contractor for the military. He came to Vietnam in 1968 and that’s when he met a young traditional Vietnamese lady. We married in 1969 and I became a wife of a strong-willed German man. I learned so much with our time together and all the many experiences we had in our 55 years together and it has made me the person I am today. In 1975, Vietnam fell to communists. In my hometown of Saigon, Herb was able to evacuate my family through the help of the U.S. Military to Ramona, California. To my Husband and my Love, You have now passed on. I thank you for our 55 years together! We will meet again at a better place and begin our next chapter. Rest in peace, I love you and God Bless! ~Lany Niederheiser The visitation will be held at Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary chapel on Friday, January 12th at 10 AM-12 PM. Graveside immediately following at Nuevo Memory Gardens in Ramona, CA. Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family. Paul Bauer

Ramona, CA

Paul was born in Unionville, Michigan on June 6,1946 to Harold Bauer and Ella Mull. He was the eldest of 9 children and he cared for each and every sibling throughout his young life. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Nona Engelhardt and Connie Grant. After graduation at Unionville High in 1964 he joined the U. S. Air Force as a radio operator. During this time, he was led to Security Detail for President Nixon in 1970 and an Honorable discharge in 1973 as Staff Sgt. Once discharged he began his education in Design Engineering at Prince George's Community College and then completed his education in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland. This led him to a prominent career in San Diego, Ca. It was in 1988 that he found the love of his life Lennda Louise Larsen whom he married on April 15, 1989. Along with Lennda came three living children Robbie Bauer, Joseph Aspaas and Yolennda "Summer" Kennedy. For 35 years we all shared love, laughter, growth, and challenges contributing to each other's lives. Since Paul's passing, I have envisioned that he is now with my departed son Eric Aspaas. Paul was the greatest of all grandfathers! Yolennda's children Nicole Thomas (husband Rich Carl), Noelle Thomas (husband Kyle Volkmann), Angel Hivoina, Mandi Hivoina and Robbie Bauer's daughter Brianna Bauer were the first round of grandchildren he got to enjoy. Robbie Bauer and Mandi Noel gave Paul two additional grandchildren, Liam Asher Noel-Bauer, his only grandson, and Cali Mae Noel-Bauer, the youngest of our granddaughters. He had the privilege of also being a Great grandpa to Brianna Bauer's daughter Aubree. As you see Paul had a full life with tons of love! Although very highly trained, Paul was an extremely gentle and nurturing man in his senior years, and he kept us all safe. We did not have to worry about being harmed with him as our protector. Paul spoiled me, watched over me and made sure I was getting everything I needed. Not always what I wanted. We all love Paul with all of our hearts, and we will never be the same without him. NEVER! Our hearts are still breaking, and we have so much we want to say, however we need to respect the amount of space we take. I am hoping you all will write your forever memories of Paul so we can see him through your eyes as well. There will be a graveside ceremony at Miramar National Cemetery on November 20,2023. The timing is prompt! The line up time begins at 1:30 pm PST and the ceremony is at 2:00 pm PST. The address is: 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, Ca. 92122 There will be a reception following the service at 4:00 pm PST at the VFW Post 3783 located at 2247 Kelly Avenue, Ramona California, 92065 phone number 760-789-7888.
