Trevor Deshawn Drake, 21 of Mortons Gap passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born August 26, 2002, to Tyree Drake and the late Jaclyn Rickard. Trevor had a smile and sense of humor for those that cared for him, occasionally he'd stick out his tongue to those same people when he did not like something. He enjoyed snuggles from his dog, Peanut. He was Papaw's boy, a true bond between those two. Everything was better when Papaw was around. Preceded in death by his mother, Jaclyn Rickard. Survived by his grandparents and caregivers, Ruby & Louise Rickard; father, Tyree Drake; grandparents, Phillip & Myrtle Drake; 3 sisters, Natasha Drake, Tristan Drake and Jaelyn Drake; and brother, Chase Drake. Service will be held Tuesday at 4:00pm at Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Nortonville with Bro. Daniel Vandiver officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm at the church.

Diana L. Sherman, 72, of Nortonville, KY passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at her home. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 17, 1950. Diana formerly worked at UC Milk Company in Madisonville, KY. She was an avid bowler for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Sherman; three sisters, Katherine Tiedemann, Janice Laden, and Laura Wiermanski; two brothers, Earl Myers, Jr. and Robert Myers. Diana is survived by two daughters, Sheri Sherman of Nortonville, KY, and Jeanette Sherman of Sebree, KY; one sister, Mary Teague of Dawson Springs, KY; one brother, William Myers of Rolling Meadows, IL; one grandson, Hunter Morse of Sebree, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Roger Dale Latham, Sr. , 71 of St. Charles was called home Monday, September 4, 2023. Born April 9, 1952, to the late Coleman and Opal (Parish) Latham in Dawson Springs. He was a member of Dawson Springs First Baptist Church and was the owner of R & L Supply. He was completely devoted to his wife and family. Roger enjoyed fishing and traveling, he liked working on the farm and tending to his cows. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Spending time playing cards with his kids and grandkids brought him much joy. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Sherman and Kathey Reich. Darrell E. Adams, 71, of Nortonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born in Madisonville, KY on February 27, 1952 to the late Dorris W. and Eva B. Adams. Mr. Adams was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Peabody Coal Wildcat Hills Mine after 42 years where he had worked as a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Adams and his brother, Randy Adams. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Rebecca Adams of Nortonville, KY; his two children, Amanda Adams of Madisonville, KY and Jerold Adams of Hanson, KY; one sister, Debra Walker of Nortonville, KY; one brother, Ricky (Nancy) Adams of Madisonville, KY; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. James Daniel Smith, 79, of Nortonville, KY passed away on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. He was born on October 16, 1943 in Dalton, KY to the late James Orville Smith and Myrtle Ivy Duncan Smith. He was also proceeded in death by his wife, Eileen "Sue" Smith; son, Marty David Smith; brothers, Paul, Eddie, Arty, Tom, Herb, and John David; and sister, Jo Ann. James worked as a banker for Bank of America in Chicago and was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed spending his free time by going fishing and watching the stock market. He also liked going to various water parks. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Smith of Hinckley, IL and Tracy (Jorge) Garcia of Nortonville; son, Troy (Heather) Smith of Madisonville; brothers, Ray Wiley of Tennessee and Robby Smith of Manitou; grandchildren, Danni, Hayley, Chaz, Kyndra, Taylor, James, Harmoni, Brian, and Madison; and eleven great grandchildren. Michael "Moses" Ernest Vincent, 66, of Nortonville, KY passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Greenville, KY on May 11, 1957 to the late Ernest E. and Josephine Vincent. Michael was a member of New Abundant Life Fellowship in Nortonville, was a member of the UMWA, and retired from Pleasant View Coal Mine and Whittaker Trucking where he had worked as a coal truck driver and heavy machine operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Vincent, in 2018. Michael is survived by his daughter, Tonya Tyson of Nortonville, KY; five sisters, Deborah, Rita, Penny, Kimberly, and Jackie; one brother, Aaron; two grandchildren, Hannah Terry and Adam Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
