Bertin "Sonny" Lewis Parker, age 90, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on August 27, 1933 to the late Lewis & Mary Downing Parker. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Parker and Carl Parker, and three sisters, Dolly Kinlaw, Helen Phillips, and Mary Suggs. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Dale Taylor Parker of the home; his sons, Bertin Keith Parker and wife Donna of Orrum, NC and Ricky Parker of Lumberton, NC; his daughter, Wanda Kay Jackson of Lumberton, NC; his grandchildren: Kristen, Lauren, Jessica, Mary Catherine, Ashley, and Russell; and 10 great-grandchildren. Sonny worked for over 50 years as a radiator mechanic and was also co-owner of Town & Country Radiator in Lumberton, NC. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his 20 cats. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Meadows and Pastor Blake Dodd officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery, on Beulah Church Road in Lumberton, NC.
