Travis Downs Obituary

"Travis Wayne Downs departed this life for his heavenly home on, May 8th, 2023 at the age of 48. Travis was born on August 21, 1974 to Doyle Downs and Ellen (Martin) Richie in Calico Rock, AR. He was an engineer with Union Pacific Railroad and an avid outdoorsman. If Travis wasn't working, he could most often be found on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved his family above all else, was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Travis loved to have fun and make others laugh; he was always ready with a joke and smile. He is survived by his daughter, Allie Grace Downs; son, Cody Wayne Downs; mother, Ellen Richie (Mike); bonus mom, Glenda Downs; brothers, Erik Downs (Megan) and Ferrell Feagin; nephews, Trevor Downs and Wyatt Downs; nieces, Ashlee Thomas (Tyler) and Charlee Downs; great niece Azariah Nicole Thomas; beloved girlfriend, Sandra Shipley and son Ryan Shipley; and his constant faithful companion Cooper. He is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Downs and brother Shawn Downs. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jason Ross, Doug Brewer, Ferrell Feagin, Steven Cox, Wyatt Downs, and Tyler Thomas. The family would like to add a special thank you to Cousin Pam Coyle and Arkansas' Hospice Nurses for their dedication in care to Travis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p. m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at the Velvet Ridge Church of God with Bro. Doug Swindle officiating. Cremation will follow.
