Richard Lynn “Rick” Knight, 70, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 22, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1953, in OKC to Harold and Claudene Knight. Rick graduated from Putnam City school in 1971. He married the love of his life, Kathy Dixon in 1973 at Putnam City Church of Christ. They were happily married for 50 years. Rick enjoyed writing songs, playing the piano, listening to music, watching western movies (John Wayne), OU Football, and spending time with friends and family. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Claudene Knight, and his sister, Donna Knight. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Knight; his children, Cary Knight and wife Stephanie Knight; Ashley Knight Isaac and husband Jason Isaac; his grandchildren, Aubree, Allie, and Aimee Isaac; brother, Jim Knight and wife, Ann Knight; nieces and nephews, Jamie Evans, Gary Knight, Craig Heitzler, Randy Heitzler, Michael Dixon, Eric Dixon, Jason Dixon, Jeremy Moore, and Jennifer Dixon. A come-and-go reception will be held for Rick from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132.

Matthew Ryan Rogers

With an engaging smile, outgoing personality and a genuine love for people of all ages, Matthew Rogers made friends quickly and was cherished by his family and friends. On Sunday, February 18, 2024, Matthew Ryan Rogers, age 37, died unexpectedly of natural causes. Born on January 22, 1987, Matt was the beloved son of Suzanne [Scroggins] and Larry Rogers, and younger brother to Michael Rogers. Matthew grew up in Oklahoma City, was educated in Putnam City Schools and graduated from P.C. North High School in 2005. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2010, was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, had fun playing on an intramural rugby team and was an OU sports fan. His senior year of university study, he experienced life abroad while studying and traveling with an OU students’ group to Germany and Austria. Upon graduation, he moved to Dallas-Fort Worth area for business opportunities, including UPS at the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport. He returned to Oklahoma City in 2022, and worked in the insurance industry. His love of animals led him to care for many cats, including the special three he rescued. Matt was interested in history, genealogy and enjoyed watching movies and documentaries. His kitchen window sill and patio provided space for his garden. He relished trying new restaurants and cuisine, found joy in learning to cook and was especially proud of his gumbo recipe. Dressing nice and having a good haircut pleased Matt, yet in contrast, he had fun camping and hiking in Missouri and southeast Oklahoma and going to southeast Oklahoma’s Honobia Big Foot Festival. His other activities were disc golf, archery, swimming and working out at the gym. Matthew is survived by his Mom, Suzanne; brother, Michael; aunts, uncles and several cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his Dad, Larry Rogers; and his grandparents. A memorial service to honor Matt will be in March. Arrangements are by Buchanan Funeral Services, 8712 N. "Steven Daniel Hayes, son of Wilbert David Hayes, Jr. and Debra Lea (Guynes) Hayes, was born April 29, 1991, at Hereford, Texas, and passed away February 25, 2024, at Oklahoma City, at the age of 32 years, 10 months, and 27 days. Steve grew up in the Waynoka area where he attended school. He moved to Alva about 10 years ago. He was a line cook in a restaurant and enjoyed cooking. He also liked to draw, create tattoos, take things apart and put them back together, and creating things with his hands. His greatest joy was being a Daddy. He is survived by his daughter, Averyanna Kay Hayes of Alva; his son, Emmett Cordell of Haysville, Kansas; his parents, Wilbert and Debra Hayes of Alva; his brothers, David Hayes and wife, Susan, of Billings, Montana, and Derek Hayes and wife, Megan, of Alva; his sister, Aadyn Hayes of Texarkana, Texas; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the funeral home."

She married Lanny Woodall February 26, 1963, in Oklahoma City, OK. They have made Clinton their home.She was very creative and loved working with flowers. She had worked in numerous flower shops including Chandlers Flowers Shop and Wohl’s Flower Shop. Miguel Angel Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on February 22, 2024, at the age of 35. Though the sudden loss of their beloved father, brother, son, and friend comes as a shock to those who loved and cared for him, his loved ones are comforted knowing he is now reunited with his brother, Eddie Garcia, in the loving presence of our Lord. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Miguel Angel Garcia Jr., and Jenny Reyes; parents, Miguel Angel and Ernestina Garcia; two sisters, Erika Garcia, and Naila Garcia; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many more loving family and friends. A caring and loving soul, Miguel was always concerned about the wellbeing of the people in his life, often checking up on his family and friends to make sure they were okay. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and loved taking them to the park. Known for his sense of humor, Miguel was so funny and loved making people laugh. He also loved music, and dancing, with his love of music being just as varied and interesting as his personality. DeAnna “Dee” Pool July 20, 1946 ~ February 22, 2024 DeAnna “Dee” Pool, 77, went to be with her Heavenly father on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The daughter of Wilburn “Rip” Colson, Sr. and Hazel (Burgess) Colson, she was born July 20, 1946, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the Pauls Valley area and graduated from Pauls Valley High School in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. In 1971 she married her sweetheart, Kenneth Ray Pool and together shared more than 30 years of marriage. While raising their children, many weekends were spent at “Dee’s” parents' home in Pauls Valley where the children were taught to hunt, fish, garden and can vegetables. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, “Dee” also worked for many years selling Home Interiors where she was recognized as a top sales leader many times over. She also worked as a 911 operator police dispatcher for the city of OKC police dept. 911 emergency until her retirement in 2007. Dee was very passionate about writing and took courses at Oklahoma City Community College to further her writing skills. She loved traveling to Branson to enjoy the multitude of entertainment there. Nothing was more important to her than being with her family whom she loved with all her heart. She spent years caring for her uncle, Charlie Burgess, in his late years and ensured he was able to travel and enjoy his final days with family around him. She loved and cared deeply for her family, and she will be held close to our hearts each day.
