James Robert and Sue Hackney, married for over 62 years, went to be with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 22, 2024. Both devout followers of God, they spent their years faithfully serving Him. They were from Pike County, KY and married in 1961. Jim and Sue spent the majority of their lives in Morristown, TN. They are preceded in death by parents, Ruey and Dorlis Hackney and Malcom and Quinnie Mullins; brothers, Royal Lee Hackney, Russell Chaney, as well as a host of beloved family and friends. Jim and Sue are survived by their son, David (Charity) Hackney; granddaughters, Chelsey (Andrew) Kingston and Megan (Mason) Monnier; great-grandsons, Ezekiel, Memphis and Elijah; brothers, Terry (Margie) Hackney, Bob (Loretta) Mullins, Bill (Rose) Mullins, and sister, Opal Richardson. They also leave behind many other dear family members and friends. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Monday, February 26, 2024, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery with Reverend Ray Pratt officiating. James Winstead, Jr., age 83, of Morristown, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at his residence. He was the founder and co-owner of S & S Millwright of Mohawk until his retirement. He loved working on the family farm as long as his health permitted. He was saved at age 9 at Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Clara Johns Winstead; sons, Rick and Jeff Winstead; brothers, Lewis and Willard Winstead; sisters, Margine Gordon and Maxine Treece; and son-in-law, Craig Wilmoth. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Rhonda Winstead; son, Chuck Winstead; daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Seiber; son by choice, Devin Cribley, who called him “Pap;” daughter-in-law, Phyllis Winstead; brother, Gene Winstead; sisters-in-law, Oneita Winstead and Laura Winstead; granddaughters, Ashley (Jimmy) Wolfe, Leslie (Devin) Cribley, and Kathy (Andrew) Greene; grandsons, Dustin Holloway and Nathaniel Wilmoth; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail Wolfe, Trevor, Dylan, and Cayden Cribley, Daylan Patterson, and Callie Greene; and several nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and special friends and neighbors including the Hayes and Brown families. Brian was a 1989 graduate of Morristown-Hamblen High School West and worked as the local sports editor for several years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and touched many lives through sports. He was a people person in every aspect and was a loyal, loving, and kind friend to everyone. Even though his journey threw him many curve balls, he continued to keep swinging and also served as an encouragement to others. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Coy and Sally Trent and William and Elizabeth Helton; and father-in-law, Charles Setser. She lived for God, church, and her family! Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Don Conway; and her parents, Herbert and Zora Morrow. She is survived by her sons, Todd Conway and John (Jackie) Conway; grandchildren, Danielle (Gray) Harrell, Alex (Frankie) Conway, and Dustin (Hannah) Conway; great-grandchildren, Carter and Beckett Harrell and Hayes Conway; siblings, Phillip (Fredda) Morrow and Kay (Lynn) Porter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
