Jordan Lindsey
Age - 30
December 7, 2023
Jordan Tyler Lindsey was born on Monday, May 24, 1993, and passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of 30.
Jordan graduated from Fuquay Varina High School. He continued his education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with honors and a double major in Philosophy and Political Science. Like the rest of his family, he was an avid Tar Heel fan! Jordan valued education and was a true academic at heart, continuing to learn over the years by reading non-fiction books of all genres, highlighting every line that was important to him.
Jordan was a kind soul who cared about all animals and had been a vegetarian since first grade. Except for roaches, he valued all of God's creatures and gently placed insects outside if they ever got into his apartment. He adored his cats who were his close companions over the past several years.
Jordan loved skateboarding and as a teenager he aspired to be the next Tony Hawk. He and his brother Nicholas spent many, many hours practicing their moves. Even as an adult, he would occasionally take his skateboard on the greenway for a quick ride and a few tricks. Jordan was also inspired by art and his home was always filled with his colorful abstract paintings.
He was especially passionate about music, from classics like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, to country music like Johnny Cash and Jerry Reed, to his favorite metal bands like Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Slayer, and Cannibal Corpse. He was most in his element at a concert head banging to the beat or slamming in the mosh pit. Jordan also loved pounding out metal riffs on one of his electric guitars. To Jordan, music was life!
Jordan was an extremely spiritual person and a natural philosopher. He enjoyed studying about religions of all kinds and worshipped a higher power in his own way with incense, candles, and healing stones. His apartment was filled with both Hindu statues and crosses - a testament to his interest in all religions of the world.
Jordan was a great conversationalist and enjoyed many phone, text, and in-person chats with family, close friends from his childhood, his time in Asheville, his Raleigh apartment complex, and his Facebook friends. Jordan was never at a loss for words!
He had many struggles throughout his life, but he met each one with determination and perseverance. His family takes comfort in our belief that he is at peace and hopefully will enjoy many more lives in the future. We celebrate the unique soul that we cherished for 30 years on this earth.
Jordan is survived by his mother Beth Ann Bridgers and his father Anthony Hayden Lindsey and Hayden's wife Tiffany Christine Lindsey; his brother Nicholas Ross Lindsey and stepsister Avalon Christine Marandas; his grandmother Mary Ross Lindsey and his grandfather Julian Dalma Bridgers, Jr; his aunt Janice Bridgers Cowen and her husband Scott David Cowen; his uncle Cleaton Melvin Lindsey, Jr; his uncle Michael Ross Lindsey and his wife Holly Askew Lindsey; and his cousins Mara Haley Cowen, Bridget Sierra Cowen, Lauren Ross Lindsey, Cleaton Jag Lindsey, and Peyton Ross Lindsey.
