Diana Brown (née Bolian)

Oct 24, 1945 - Feb 15, 2024

location-icon

Chicago, IL

"Under the broad canopy of heaven, a kindred soul, Diana Brown (née Bolian), born amidst the winds of autumn on October 24, 1945, born to Ida (Bolian) Holloway and the late James Wyatt in Chicago, took her leave from this mortal coil on February 15, 2024, in the same city that she love her life, at the venerable age of seventy-eight years. Her departure was tender, encircled by the loving embrace of her kin and dearest companions. Diana carried herself through life with a grace and benevolence that touched everyone she met. Diana, a vessel of boundless kindness, sailed the sea of life with a heart as generous as summer rain. Her essence was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, which she wrapped around all those who wandered into her orbit. She was a graduate of Wendell Phillips High School where she met and later married the love of her life. Her work friends turned into good friends and her foes became her well wishers. Her spirit, playful as the dance of beaming sunlight through leaves, found joy in the simple pleasures of game shows' laughter, crosswords' challenge, solitaire's solitude, and the euphonic rhythm of life's grand dance. As the earth spins and seasons change, so does the garden of Diana's love continue to flourish. She tended to her passions with the same devotion as her vibrant blooms: the savory alchemy of cooking, the metamorphosis of seed to flower in her cherished garden, and the sacred halls of worship where she cultivated her faith. She leaves behind her steward, her beloved husband, of 59 years Ronnie Brown; her cherished daughters, the lights of her life, Dessie Gaudet-Evans, Dawn A. Brown, and Diana Ayesha Varnadore. The gallant sons-in-law who stood by them, George Evans and Marcus Varnadore. Her Mother Ida Holloway, and her siblings, Eileen McCullough, Brenda Jones, Tyrone Bolian, Pierre Holloway, and Mark Holloway. Diana's lineage is graced by her progeny: the grandchildren, Chanel Robinson, Asia Brown, Arthur Gaudet, Charles Gaudet, Brittaney Evans, Carlos Evans, Myesha Seastrunk, Donnell Evans, Michael Evans, Ronnie Brown II, Ray Brown, Reece Brown, Marcus Avery Varnadore, Quentin Varnadore, Kendall Varnadore, and Makayla Varnadore, as well as her great-grandchildren Sydney Robinson, Aaron Brown, LaRue Brown, Alivia Brown, Rocco Brown and Rhylee Brown will carry forward her legacy. Enveloped in her love was a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Diana’s earthly journey is a chapter closed, her story etched in the annals of time, preceded in the silent procession by her son Ronnie Brown, and her brothers Darwin Bolian and Darrell Holloway, who now welcome her with outstretched arms into the tranquil realm beyond the stars. A paragon of kindness, Diana's legacy is that of a life selflessly devoted to her family, friends, and community. She was a beacon of generosity, always ready to celebrate the achievements and support the endeavors of those around her. With a heart that knew no bounds, she shared her joy through thoughtful cards, messages, and gifts, marking every occasion with a personal touch. Let her soul ?nd the peace that surpasses all understanding, and may her memory be inscribed upon the hearts of those she graced, everlasting as the constellations that navigate the night sky.
