Todd Rupert, born on May 3, 1978 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, lived the perfect life. He was taken too early at only 45 years of age. He and his wife Karen were married for 17 years and made the perfect family together with their two beautiful children. He was an outstanding, loving father who enjoyed jumping in the action and playing with the kids. He was a loving son, a caring brother, and always a generous friend. As a boy, Todd grew up on a farm in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. He learned to work hard by bailing hay and tending the cattle. He discovered his passion for flying at a young age and eventually became a corporate jet pilot. Todd put a lot of love and perfection into all that he did. He loved hiking and camping, but most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. Todd is survived by his beloved wife Karen, daughter Emma and son Dylan. His father Thomas Rupert, mother Bernice Vlcek and her husband, Brian. And Todd's brothers Clinton and Adam, his sister Nicole. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM with services starting at 12:30 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Hall Funeral Home located at 140 S. Nursery Ave. , Purcellville, VA 20132.

George Kenneth Cummings, age 85, of Purcellville, Virginia, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's on Dec 3, 2023 at Heritage Hall Nursing in Leesburg V. A. A lifelong resident of Purcellville, he was a beloved father, husband, and friend to many. Kenny married his wife, Betty Joyce Baldridge and they shared 50 plus years together until her passing in 2015. He leaves behind a legacy of memories, as he is survived by his daughter, Debra C. James of Round Hill, and 2 sons, David Cummings of South Florida, additionally Jaclyn Wilson step-daughter to Mike Cummings of Paeonian Springs. Sister Betty Larue of Purcellville and brother Sonny Cummings of Ashburn. Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, and his parents, Richard Sampson and Mae L. Cummings along with several siblings. Anyone who chatted in conversation with Kenny immediately recognized his deep passion for automobiles where he spent most of his time detailing his cherished classic cars. He also had a deep affection for his many dogs over the years. He loved re-working small mower engines and going to car shows. Some may remember Kenny as a local tow truck driver where he operated for Bridges Towing. Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces on 17th day of Dec 1962. Roy E. Graham, 84, of Bluemont, Virginia, passed away on November 12, 2023, after a brief illness and hospitalization. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Roy's journey was marked by dedication, service, and unwavering love. Preceded in death by his parents, his brother, his son Troy, and a granddaughter, Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Anne, his son Kevin (Kelly), his granddaughters Christina, Jennifer, Kyleigh, and great-granddaughter Lily. Roy served with honor in the United States Army from 1957 to 1961 as a Nike Missile Site Technician, stationed in Northern Virginia. He then met the love of his life, Anne, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. An avid horseman and huntsman in Loudoun County, Roy took great pride in Boca Bird, an exceptional timber horse and the 2012 Virginia Steeplechase Association Hall of Fame inductee. Before settling in Bluemont in the early 2000s, Roy and Anne called Arcola home, where Roy served as the Rescue Chief of Arcola Volunteer Fire and Rescue for nine years. As the proud owner of Bell Transport, Inc. , Loudoun's favorite pool water company since 1988, Roy could not have anticipated the remarkable expansion of his modest enterprise beyond pool filling. Roy was a multifaceted individual, excelling in his roles as husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Affectionately known as "Tennessee" by friends and business associates, his granddaughters and great-granddaughter lovingly called him "TC. " Roy's infectious smile, humor, warmth, generosity, and charm left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department 24300 Stone Spring Boulevard Dulles, VA 20168 on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. John Joseph Protopappas (Age 77)Passed away on November 4, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Ann Meany; his daughter Christina Alexander and her husband Robert Alexander of Fairfax, VA , his son Peter Protopappas and his wife Jessica Protopappas of Columbus, Ohio, his daughter Stephanie Tatum and husband Anthony Tatum of Wilmington, NC and 7 grandchildren (Caroline, Matthew, Jack, Maya, Stella, Isaac and George); Born in Tokyo, Japan to Peter and Marta (Harnischmacher) Protopappas. He attended St Johns Prepatory school in Brooklyn, NY and went on to Niagara University where he received a BA of Political Science and was in the Army ROTC all 4 years. John was called to active duty and served as Captain in the Vietnam war from 1968-1970 in the Signal Corps. When he returned, he attended Catholic University of America and received a Masters of Land Planning. John spent his professional career in land planning and commercial real estate, and was the proud founder of the commercial real estate firm Fraser Forbes, and primary author of the Washington On Foot book, wildly distributed through the Washington Smithsonian. In addition John was an avid cyclist, skier, pilot, music-lover who delighted in sharing his enthusiasm with his friends, children and grandchildren. He was always happy to be the life of the party, would gladly fly you anywhere in his airplane, loved traveling the world and attending Schutzenfest in Olpe, Germany as much as possible. He was very proud to be of Greek and German descent and loved conversing in German and all things Greek. A mass will be held at Saint Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, VA on Thursday November 9 at 11am, and will be followed by lunch. No flowers or donations.Show more

Evelyn Orvina Olson/Lloyd, was born on a farm in Belt, Montana, January 1, 1927. She was the fifth of six children, two girls and four boys. The early years were spent at the farm before moving to Great Falls, Montana at the age of 5-6. Evelyn graduated from Great Falls High School in 1945. She was employed at Woolworths Department Store and trained as a bookkeeper. It is here that she met Charles Lloyd and they were married September 2, 1951. They settled in Palo Alto, California where Charles began a towing and car repair business. Evelyn provided her bookkeeping skills to the business for over 40 years. Charles and Evelyn had two daughters born in Palo Alto Hospital, Carol Ann and Laurie Jean. In 1990 they moved to Scottsdale Arizona. She worked for her son-in-law's (Laurie Jean's husband) automotive service for 6 years. In 1996 she followed her daughter Carol Ann to Virginia. They first settled in Round Hill, Virginia. She worked at Valley Storage as a manager for 18 years. When Charles health declined, they moved to Waterford, Virginia into her daughters basement apartment. They spent their remaining years her to the great joy of the family. Charles died in 2003. Evelyn passed peacefully away on November 4th in the living room of Carol Ann's home. The last weeks were spent with many visitors from family and friends. Evelyn will be remembered for being a kind loving soul. She also had a keen sense of humor with many one liners, "I don't know if I'm on foot or horseback" or "Going, going, gone". Survived by her daughter Carol Ann Corcoran and her husband Ed. Daughter Laurie Jean Loose. Grandchildren Julie Corcoran, Brigid and Doug Hohlfelder, Cathleen and Tom Royals, Eddie and Kaley Corcoran, John Corcoran, Rose Corcoran, Ailleen Corcoran. Patty passed away peacefully on Oct 31st, 2023, at the age of 67. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, sister and aunt. Patty was born on October 10th, 1956, and spent her life spreading warmth, love, and kindness to everyone she met. Her unwavering love and support were a constant source of strength for her family and friends. In 2017, Patty was diagnosed with cancer, and her prognoses only gave her a few months to a year to live. With unwavering determination and incredible courage, she defied the odds, fighting for six more years. During this time, she seized every moment to be with her family, watching her grandchildren grow and creating lasting memories. Patty's passion was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Rhett Wade, her children Natalie Jacobini (Gian) and Charlie Wade (Maggie), and her cherished grandchildren Olive, Rhett, Evelyn, and Kaylee, her brother Donny Chiotos, and numerous nieces and nephews. She now joins her daughter, Nicole, in the eternal embrace where they will be united. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. A visitation will be held at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville on Nov. 5th between 3:00-5:00pm. A religious service will be held in her honor on Nov. 6th at 10:00AM located at the Round Hill United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Leesburg at Union Cemetery. James Bogle

James Henry "Jimmy" Bogle passed away on Sunday, October 29. He was born on June 22, 1943, to the late JR and Maggie Bogle of Purcellville, VA. Jimmy spent most of his life in Purcellville working at Loudoun Golf and County Club, starting as a caddie when he was 9 years old. After high school, he became the Assistant Golf Professional and served in that role until he became Head Golf Professional at Carper's Valley Golf Club in Winchester. He came back to Purcellville and served as Head Golf Pro and later General Manager of LGCC until he retired. He sold cars in his retirement. Jimmy loved his "girls" and was surrounded and loved by them in his last months at home, including his daughter Kim Turner, daughter Lisa Bogle, and granddaughter Sara Bogle. He is also survived by granddaughters Kacie and Kylie Turner, and son-in-law Kelly Turner. He loved watching his granddaughters play many sports, just like he did growing up, and was a hardcore fan of his Washington Commanders and Nationals. But his favorite thing was playing the horses and watching the races every week. Not only will he be missed by his girls, he will also be missed by his second family of friends at the Blue Ridge Eagles. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Marguerite Titus, June Jewell, and his brother AD Bogle. Family will receive friends at the Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville on Friday, November 3 from 6-8pm. Services will be private, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
