Thomas Darrell Weber

Thomas Darrell Weber, 79, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Bethlehem, Indiana passed from this life on February 25, 2024, into the arms of our Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 20, 1944, to William Weber and Marie Laurel Weber. He was a 1963 graduate of Short High School in Liberty, Indiana and attended Vincennes University and Ball State University. His professional career was in manufacturing, but he found a true calling in his second act as the founder of Rest on the River, a Christian rest home in Bethlehem, Indiana specializing in care for Alzheimer’s patients. In retirement, he continued his calling to serve and was a caretaker for many beloved friends in the Madison, Indiana area. He was a member of Bethlehem Community Church and Southeast Christian Church. Tom was a talented runner in his younger years and an avid golfer in his later years. But most of all, he loved attending his grandkids’ sports and activities. He was “Pops” to his five sons, “Grandpops” to his eleven grandchildren, and was an endless source of encouragement and support to his family. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert D. Weber and David A. Weber; sister-in-law, Kathy Weber; and many dear friends for whom he was a caretaker. He is survived by his fiancé and caretaker, Karen Walker; brother, Kenneth J. Weber; sister-in-law, Sharon Weber; sons, Ryan Weber (Pam), Clayton Weber (Karen), Shannon Weber (Carrie), Randy Weber (Sherri), and Casey Weber (Stacey); grandchildren, Kaelee Hubert (Phillip), Eli, Savannah, Riley, Lilli, Bryce, Ava, Maggie, Thomas, Cameron, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The Weber family would like to express their most sincere thanks and appreciation to Tom’s fiancé, Karen, who took such loving and gracious care of Pops during his final days. Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 2:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, Indiana. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Bethlehem Community Church in Bethlehem, Indiana. Saturday visitation hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the memorial will commence at 11:00 a.m., with pastor Kurt Sauder officiating. Following the burial at Bethlehem Cemetery, all are welcome to join the family for lunch at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to Bethlehem Community Church, P.O. Box 6, New Washington, Indiana 47162.

Donald Eugene Henderson, 57, of Madison, IN, passed away February 21, 2024 at Norton Kings Daughters Hospital Madison, IN. Donald was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on February 26, 1966, a son of the late Helen Louise (James) and Willie B. Henderson. He was affectionately nicknamed “Farmer” by his family. Donald completed his high school degree through Madison Consolidated Schools and went on to obtain further life skills through Sandstone Industries. Donald enjoyed tinkering, putting together model cars, playing guitar, listening to music, and being around family. He also greatly enjoyed participating in various church services in his local community or offered in the nursing homes. Donald is survived by brothers Denver Henderson (Christina) of Independence, KY, Carl Henderson of Patriot, IN, Darrell “Buckwheat” Henderson of Richmond, IN, Robert Henderson of Patriot, IN, and Ronald Henderson of Patriot, IN; sisters Sue Cunningham (Clinton) of Florence, IN; Roseann Owens (Robert) of Patriot, IN, and Wilma Ollman (John) of Florence, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by sister Anna Henderson on September 11, 2019. James Leo Huffington

Mr. James Leo Huffington, age 79, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on September 14, 1944 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late George A. and Helen Tingle Huffington. He resided in Jefferson County all of his life and graduated from Southwestern High School. James was raised in the Catholic faith with the Prince of Peace Catholic Parish. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 1, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He rose to the rate of Specialist Five during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 28, 1967 from Fort Meade in Maryland receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He remained in the Reserves until being discharged on April 30, 1970, On June 29, 1970 James was united in marriage to Anna R. Kiser in Madison, Indiana. This happy union of 53 years was blessed with sons, James Matthew and Todd and a daughter, Lara. He began his working career with Grote Industries where he worked for five years and had met his wife there. He retired after 35 years of service as a tool and die maker with Clifty Engineering in Madison, Indiana. He enjoyed caring for his lawn, watching IU basketball, listening to country music, and watching television. He was a beloved husband, dad, brother and uncle. James died on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 2:10 a.m. at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY James will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna R. Kiser Huffington of Madison, Indiana; his loving sons, Todd Huffington of Carmel, Indiana, James Matthew Huffington of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughter, Lara Huffington of Scottsburg, Indiana; his brother, Dennis Huffington of Delphi, Indiana; his sister, Marie Huffington Howard of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Huffington, died November 4, 2004, his mother, Helen Tingle Huffington, died April 19, 1992, his sisters, Mary Regina Huffington, died April 13, 1958 and Rosalie Huffington Means, died May 10, 2019, his sister in law, Lucille Huffington, died May 20, 2021, and his brother in law, Clabourn Russell Howard, died April 17, 2017. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Michael Cammack at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana, VISITATION Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.MILITARY HONORSA final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
