Timothy Patterson Obituary

Timothy Murray Patterson, 64, of Scipio, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at his residence. He was born on July 25, 1958, in Columbus, the son of Linda (Anderson) Wilson and the late John Patterson II. Timothy was a 1976 graduate of Jennings County High School and served in United States Marines from 1976-1988 and 4 years in the National Guard. He worked for NTN Driveshaft in Columbus as a machine operator for 12 years before retiring in 2023. He had previously worked as a supervisor for Dolly Madison Bakery in Columbus for 14 years; manager at TA Truckstop in Seymour for 13 years and the former Regal Rugs. Timothy enjoyed fishing, camping, watching races, playing poker and cats. He is survived by his daughters, Sara (Jayon) Thomas of Foley, Alabama and Holly (Benjamin) Hempstead of Satsuma, Alabama; mother and stepfather, Linda and Dewayne Wilson of North Vernon; brothers, John Patterson III of North Vernon, Joey Patterson and Jimmy Patterson, both of Muncie; sisters, Jackie Leath of New Castle, Jeneice Grover of Alaska, Jan Patterson and Johnny Belinda, both of Muncie, Nita (Brian) Whaley and Julie Syprepp, both of Florida, and Lee Ann Wilson of Columbus; and grandchildren, Trinity Davis of Hayden, Jaylynn Thomas, Hunter Hempstead and Chloe Hempstead, all of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father. A funeral service for Timothy will be conducted at 1:00 p. m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a. m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with military graveside rites by members of Matt Hester Post #2021. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Matt Hester Post #2021 V.
