Timothy Browning Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Kennedy Browning of Lexington, SC passed away at his home on May 7, 2023. Born on September 19, 1958 in Columbia, Tim graduated from Columbia High School in 1977 where he lettered in basketball. He then attended Midlands Technical College, where he received a degree in Criminal Justice. Tim had successful careers in criminal justice and security as well as in marketing and sales management. Tim enjoyed grilling and cooking, Gamecock sports, boating on Lake Murray, fishing, and target shooting. He was also known for his jokes, his boiled peanuts and grilled hamburgers, his knowledge of history and religion, and his generosity. Tim was the son of Ed and Elizabeth Browning of Columbia, SC; uncle of Christopher Mayer of Lexington, SC and Amy Browning Buddin of Charleston, SC. He is survived by his sister, Julia Beth Browning Mayer of Lexington, SC; brothers, Robert "Bob" Browning of Lexington, SC and Marshall "Lynn" Browning (Sue) of Charleston, SC; and niece, Dr. Alyson Browning of Columbia, SC. A memorial service is planned for 2PM, Friday, May 12, 2023 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitors will be received prior to the service at 1:15PM. Burial with a small graveside service will be held at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC.
