Tillie Kitchens, 95 of Santa Fe, NM formerly of El Rito, NM, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023 in her home surrounded with loved ones. She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert L. Kitchens Sr. , daughter Mary Jane Lucio, grandson Jose Lucio and her brother Juan Lee Sisneros. She is survived by her siblings, sister Celia (Joe) Dominguez, Reyecitas Lucero, brothers Eddie Sisneros, Gilbert Sisneros. Children Robert (Debbie) Kitchens Jr. , Bunnie Burton (Stan), Dean (Jeanette) Kitchens, Teresa Kitchens, 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Tillie was a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for 22 years. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. John's Catholic Church. She was a member of the City of Santa Fe, Senior Volunteer Program. She volunteered as a teacher's aide at Pinon Elementary School for 12 years, until she lost her eyesight. Rosary is September 14, 2023 6:00pm at St. John's Catholic Church, 1301 Osage Ave. Mass is September 15, 2023 11:00am at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00pm. Reception to immediately follow at St. John's Hall. Pallbearers: Arthur Esquibel, Champagne Padilla, Robert Gonzales, Christopher Kitchens, Raymond Burton and Johnny Romero.

Herman was proceeded in death by his parents, Gavino and Maria Manzanares, father in law Roberto Ortiz, brothers Antonio, Bernie and twin brother Leonard Manzanares, brother in laws Salvano Martinez and Andrew Ortiz, and sister in law Diane Ortiz. Herman is survived by his loving wife Rita Manzanares, Vickie Martinez, and brother Sam Sisneros, mother in law Jennie Ortiz, nephews Junior Martinez(Cynthia), Timo Martinez(Norma) Martinez, nieces Angelica Lopez(Cornelio) and Mallory Manzanares, brothers in law sand sisters in law Ronnie Ortiz, Edwin Ortiz (Heidy), Roberta Ortiz-Webber(Bill), Elaine "Peaches" Valerio(Earl), Elizabeth "BD" Ortiz (Orlando), Chris Ortiz(Michelle), Charlie Ortiz, Susana Ortiz and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many relatives and friends. Special friend Johnny Ortiz. Serving as Pallbearers Chris Ortiz, Junior Martinez, Timo Martinez, Diego Martinez, Silvano Martinez lll and Leonardo Lopez. Honorary Pallbearers are all his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Herman worked for 28 years as a security guard, grounds keeper and custodian Northern New Mexico College. He loved going to the mountains for wood with his brothers. He looked forward to family dinners every t Sunday of the month. He used to say moms' beans were the greatest. Alamosa resident Maria Roselina Ninfa Anaya, 76, died June 14, 2022 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa. Maria's life began on June 27, 1945 in El Rito, New Mexico, the daughter of Tomas Benito Jaramillo and Veronica M. (De Herrera) Jaramillo,She was a member of the Catholic Faith and practiced this daily through prayer and reciting the rosary. Maria was a wonderful cook and will be remembered for her Chili and Tortillas. She was a hard worker and worked all her life to support her family. Maria's family was everything to her and she loved them all dearly. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her novella's. Maria is survived by her children Marie (Gerald) Vigil of Denver, CO, Annette (Dan) Bybee of Wheat Ridge, CO, Valentino (Annette) Garcia, Jr. of Lakewood, CO, and Valerie Garcia of Alamosa, CO; her grandchildren Phillip Garcia, Jessica Garcia, Anna Marie Trunkenbolz, Leandro Lara, Valentina Garcia, Valerina Mascarenas, Larry Garcia, Jr. , Ashley Garcia and Jayla Garcia; as well as 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and three siblings. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry Garcia and six siblings. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:00 p. m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 and 9:30 a. m. Monday, June 27, 2022, both at the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara. Julia Jaramillo, 93 of El Rito, NM, passed on April 25, 2022. She was born November 7, 1928 to Julian Gallegos and Trinidad Gonzales-Gallegos. Julia was met at the gates of heaven by her loving husband Guzman Jaramillo, her sons Gus and Richard Jaramillo and her grandson Dion Jaramillo. Julia leaves behind her daughters, Bernice Sena (Nick), Carmen Campos (Eddie), her son, Antonio Jaramillo. Her daughter-in-laws, Porfie and Diana Jaramillo. Her grandchildren, Donna (Pablo), Daniella (Richard), Julie (Richard), Felix, Anita (Joey), Estaban, Leah (Jonathon), Vince (Marlyne), Mauri (Albert). Her great-grandchildren, Louis (Crystal), Daniel (Raeanna), Jason (Jenay), Brittany (Gabriel), Antonio (Jacquelynn), Richard (Nichelle), Ericka, Jasmine, Cruz, Trinidad, Destiny, Leticia, London, Lilly, Mia Rose, Lucas and Tara and six great- great grandchildren. Surviving her are her two sisters, Libby Trujillo (Silviano), Nora Trujillo, Brothers, Vincente Gallegos, Tony Gallegos (Olivia), Reyes Gallegos (Annie), Sisters-in-law, Teresa Gallegos, Virginia Gallegos, Claudine Jaramillo, Bertha Jaramillo and brother-in-law, Rudy Jaramillo (Sennie), Claudine-Kika Jaramillo. Julia used her hard-working hands to cook and for prayer to instill spiritual faith in her family whom she loved dearly. Julia loved every minute of her life, fishing, dancing, picking pinon, visiting the casino, visiting friends and family, accompanied by her partner in crime, her son, Antonio. Her presence and conversation will be missed by everyone who knew her. Julia is being honored by being carried to her final resting place by Felix Jaramillo, Estaban Sena, Vincent Campos, Pablo Negreros, Richard Gallegos, Richard Garcia, Joseph Vasquez and Jackie Gallegos. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother. He accomplished many things including serving his country in WWll and working as a mail carrier for over 30 years. Federico loved the outdoors, making people laugh, his sweets and his little doggie. He was preceded in death by his parents Silviano Martinez and Gregorita Martinez; wife Elizaida Martinez; sons Silviano Martinez and Leroy Martinez; granddaughter Valerie Martinez; great granddaughters Adriana Martinez and Shawnae Quintana; brothers Melaquias Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, and Alfonso Martinez; sisters Anna Maria Martinez, Lupe Baca and Ascension Maria Valdez. Obituary JOSE H. HERRERA, 89, a resident of Espanola, born and raised in El Rito, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2020 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Jose was preceded in death by his grandson, James Archuleta; his parents, Miguel and Perfecta Herrera; sisters, Leocadia and Idalia Herrera and Erminia Manzanares; brothers, Fermin Sr., Alex, Moises, Cruz and Rudy Herrera. Jose grew up in El Rito, enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17, where he fought in the Korean War until September 1950 when he was honorably discharged. Jose worked construction in the early years, then was employed at the Denver Federal Center as a carpenter until he retired. He loved spending time with family and friends, having BBQ parties or watching his favorite NFL team the Denver Broncos. Jose loved music and dancing. He was a very proud and independent man, until his short illness limited his independence. He was very proud of his family, who meant everything to him. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clara Mae Herrera, son, Phillip Herrera and daughter, Tina Archuleta who reside in the home daughters, Rhonda Encinias (Rick) of Denver, CO., Verna Fernandez (Jesse) of Denver, CO. and Phyllis Archuleta (Levie) of El Rito; grandchildren, Christina Encinias, Estevan and Adam Archuleta, Lola Fernandez-Garcia, Joey and Paul Fernandez, Jessica and Leon Archuleta and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Longtime resident of El Rito, Colorado, Carmel Rael, 86, died October 3, 2020 at her home in El Rito surrounded by her family while under hospice care.Carmel was born in Chama, Colorado, on July 13, 1934, the daughter of Amado Aragon and Lupita DeHerrera Aragon. She married her husband Odosio F. Rael in 1950.Carmel was a member of the Carmelita's and the Sacred Heart societies. She loved cooking for her family. She taught many of her family members how to fish and hunt and also instilled a hard working ethic in them as they worked with her on their ranch. Veronica Nicole Trujillo, 25, a resident of El Rito/Espanola, passed away on September 3, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained in automobile accident. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Victor and Eliza Trujillo, Rafael and Eva Montoya; uncles, Eugenio, Nazario and Noah Montoya and Victor Torrez and Mike Trujillo. Veronica was born in Las Cruces, NM on December 11, 1993 to parents Lucas (Orlando) Trujillo and Yvonne Lehman. Veronica was raised in El Rito as a child with the loving help of her paternal grandparents Lucas Sr. and Jesucita Trujillo before moving to Espanola, NM with her family at the age of 10. She attended school in El Rito, Holy Cross, McCurdy, Mesa Vista and graduated from Espanola Valley High School in 2012. On August 8, 2019 just under a month before she entered eternal life Veronica gave birth to a beautiful baby Daughter Estrella Sky whom she loved dearly. Veronica made many friends throughout her brief life and those who knew her know she was a kind, giving, loving soul. Veronica loved animals, music, shopping, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
