Denise S. Jenkins' Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Wright Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Denise Rollison Jenkins was born to Andrew and Jessie in era of peacebuilding and war, of rhythm and blues giving way to rock and roll, of Ann Lowe fashion and civil unrest. Her dear friend remembers their meeting in the fall of 1963 when they began attending Junior High School and cites her as extremely intelligent and personable such that they became friends despite never landing in the same class. Denise was driven by creativity - loving to read, write, and, most importantly, design, allowing her to graduate from Fashion Industry High School just in time to enjoy the individuality that 1970s fashion offered. As her talents grew, Denise gripped the corporate world by joining the New York Telephone Company, then S. N. E. T. , and, ultimately, A. T. &T, retiring in a supervisory position. Moving on several fronts, Denise found love with Morris Francis and leaves behind their son, Brandon, and daughter, Vanessa. Denise enjoyed many chapters over her seven-plus decades: owning her own bridal shop, traveling around the country and abroad, recently making a wedding gown for her cherished niece (whom she also leaves behind, along with a beloved sister), finding love once more with the now-deceased Willie Jenkins, and treasuring moments with the light-of-her-eye, grandson Kaeman. This consummate hostess, kind, classy, beautiful woman will be remembered always with love and appreciation. To to the family or in memory of Denise Sandrea (Rollison) Jenkins, pleaseShow more
