Following high school Rosemary attended the Belleville Business College and was later employed as the assistant to the manager at the Belleville Lock Manufacturing Company. After their marriage, Aug. 18,1962, Rosemary and Bill took up residence in Port Hope. Rosemary was a very family-oriented individual and was a stay-at-home Mother and Wife until her children were in High School, at which time she worked for several years for the Member of the Provincial Parliament, after which she was employed by the Northumberland County Social Services Department until her retirement. She did however volunteer with the 6th Port Hope Scouts Mother's Auxiliary and enjoyed her volunteer time on the Port Hope Hospital Auxiliary serving as President and sitting on the Board of Directors. Although Rosemary was always hesitant in leaving their children and grandchildren on special occasions such as birthdays or Christmas, she and Bill did enjoy trips to Mexico and Cuba in the winter as well as Ireland and on their 50th. Anniversary toured England, Wales and Scotland. Unfortunately, poor health soon prevented further trips abroad but they were able to continue to reside in the home they had shared for over 61 years until the time of Rosemary's death. In keeping with Rosemary's wishes there will be no visitations or service. Private family interment to be at a later date. If desired memorial donations may be made by cheque to the PrimRose Donkey Sanctuary, Roseneath Ontario or a charity of your choice.Show more
