Thomas J. Tobin, 84, of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 in hospice care at Northwest Hospital (Baltimore, MD). Born September 12, 1937, in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Tobin and Anne Parlas. Tom graduated from St. Mary's High School in Warren, Ohio and went on to pursue his Bachelor of Arts at The Athenaeum of Ohio as well as graduate studies in literature at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tom worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims authorizer until he retired in 1999. He really enjoyed traveling with his wife, Genie, and was an active member of St. Leo Parish where he was a faithful member and held numerous offices in the Knights of Columbus. He also participated in Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and was a lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Eugenia Conrad Tobin, his brother Robert Tobin, and his brother-in-law, Gil Gruzynski. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Leona Gruzynski and JoAnn Martin (and husband Henry Martin); his brother-in-law David Conrad; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Saint Leo Catholic Church in Inwood with Father Alfred Obiudu celebrant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at the church. Interment will be in the St Leo Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements made by Brown Funeral Home.
