Obituary of Thomas Thomas Thomas M. "Tom" Thomas, Jr., 72, of Silver Lake Rd. in AuSable Forks, died on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 24, 1946, the son of Thomas and Jane (Hewston) Thomas, Sr. Tom attended AuSable Forks High School. He "worked" many different jobs: Ski Instructor at Paleface and Whiteface through the 1980 Olympics, various construction jobs, including partnership in Northwood Builders, and owner of Thomas' Country Store in AuSable Forks and T's Mini Barns. Tommy, known as "devilman", led a very colorful life, gracing every bar establishment in the North Country with his presence. Everyone has at least one outrageous story they experienced with him. Tom loved his family and friends. He was always on the sidelines shouting words of encouragement for his kids and grandkids during any sporting event. During his younger years, he played in AuSable's fastpitch softball league and the annual tournament. Many a batter, lost their balance, trying to hit his Fern Lake Wobbler. As an avid sports enthusiast, Tom, Coach T, was so proud of all the athletes he coached in football and wrestling at AuSable Valley High School. Tom brought joy and laughter to so many. His endless stories will certainly live on forever. Left to cherish the memory of Tom is his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Thomas; children, Kristi (Rich) Hathaway and Tod Thomas. His grandkids, Jeremiah Thomas, Alexis and Isaac Hathaway. A special aunt Julia Thomas. Siblings: John (Jack & Jane) Thomas, Robert (Tim and Cindy) Thomas, Julia (Kim) Hildreth, Matthew Thomas, and Shirley (Kevin) Snow.
