She was always very close with her younger sister Anita along with all her family members. She attended Saint Brendan's High School in Brooklyn. During her high school years, the love of her life, Robert Doherty from Flatbush, NY, won a coin flip to dance with the beautiful Amelia. When Robert won the coin toss, he didn't know he won the woman of his dreams for the next 67 years together. She later attended the NY School of Interior Design, which was one of her passions, and later formed an interior design business with two of her close friends. Arthur Dunne

Arthur Dunne

Age - 94

November 20, 2023

Arthur J. Dunne departed this world to begin his new role as an angel for God, the heavenly Father, on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Arthur passed away from complications associated with congestive heart failure, which he courageously endured for several years. He was 94 years young and enjoyed a very rich and fulfilling life. Born to Lawrence and Jeanette Dunne on June 6, 1929 in Queens, New York he graduated from Manhattan College in 1953 having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He then served as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War before embarking on a very successful and rewarding career as a chemist. His love for the field of chemistry was only eclipsed by his unconditional love for his wife of 51 years, Grace Dunne, (nee Monastero), who he married on December 5, 1953, and with whom he raised three children; Richard, Linda and Barbara. Arthur was an avid sports fan, especially of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and New York football Giants, enjoyed the arts and traveled the world with Grace and his family. His love for travel can best be epitomized by one four-year stretch when, from 1968 to 1971, he took four consecutive weeks off from his job each of those summers to drive across this beautiful country with his family logging more than 5,000 miles on the road on each occasion. Arthur was a gentle, brave and resilient man who compelled even those who would meet him for the very first time to remark about his gentle nature and ways. He unselfishly, and unconditionally devoted his life to his family. Arthur absolutely adored all eight (8) of his grandchildren whose events growing up, sports or otherwise, he made sure never to miss, and was always ready, willing and eager to film for posterity. When he retired and his grandchildren began to attend college, he would visit with and take long walks daily with the dogs of all three of his children. Having been a fierce lover of dogs he was adored by them all, particularly when they knew he was more than willing to overload them with treats. He will be, and already is sorely missed by all; individuals and canines alike. Arthur was pre-deceased by his only sibling, George Dunne, in 1995, and his wife, Grace, in 2004, and is survived by his three children, Richard Dunne and his wife Christina Dunne, Linda Dunne and her husband Stewart Cunningham, Barbara Dunne and her husband Gregory Lazicky, his eight grandchildren, Christopher Dunne and his wife, Danielle, Trevor Dunne and his wife Theresa, Andrew Dunne, James Dunne, Kerry Cunningham and her husband Geoffrey Rafalik, Corey Cunningham and his companion Liz Manus, Amanda Lazicky and Ross Lazicky and his fiance, Kirsten Morgan, and his three great-grandchildren, Jason Dunne, Grace Rafalik and Francesca Dunne.
