Thomas Macon Shirley, Sr. , 88, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022. Mr. Shirley was born on February 12, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Gurney Baxter Shirley and Alameda Vernon Shirley. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and loved his church family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shirley was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Shirley. Surviving family includes his sons, Macon Shirley and Scott Shirley (Tereia); grandchildren, Sara, Salem, Taylor, Devin, Christopher, Ellen and step-grandson, Ethan; great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Larson, Graylen, Olivia, Ever, Chloe and Cole; and granddogs, Snoopy and Rascal and grandcat Tom. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy. , Winston-Salem, NC 27103, with Chaplain Mark Brown officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Pkwy. , Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
