Johnny Allbright

Age - 74

November 7, 2023

"Following a long but courageous battle with diabetes, Johnny Lloyd Allbright, 74, of Montgomery, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on November 5, 2023. He was born in Kerrville, TX on December 22, 1948, to Marcilene and Kenneth Allbright. He was the eldest of two children. Johnny grew up in Austin, Tx where he met his lifelong partner in crime, Bonny Friedrich, at Lanier High School. After many years in construction, he went to work selling insurance for TLC National Marketing Co in 1976. There he won numerous awards and trips, where him and Bonny traveled all over the world. In 1994, him and Bonny founded Freedom Insurance, which is now a very successful insurance agency in the Montgomery, Tx. Johnny was the kind of person you didn't forget once you met him. He always had a joke to tell and loved to make people laugh. Even after his double amputations from the diabetes, he never lost his humor and often joked about his handicap. He kept up with current events and what was going on in the world. He would often reminisce about the people he encountered selling insurance and "playing war games" as he would call it, during his time in the National Guard. Nobody could tell a story with more life and enthusiasm than he could. His personality was captivating. He was just fine being the life of the party whether that meant dressing up as a "lady of the night" at a wedding or telling tall tales around the campfire with his family. He was happiest waking up in the woods on a cool brisk morning at his river house. He loved riding atvs, exploring and don't forget fishing. He was very proud of his many fishing adventures and loved to show off his trophies. He also enjoyed driving fast, listening to music, loudly most of the time, and the neighborhood board meetings. Pappy or Papaw as he was called, was a great husband, a loving father, and an even better grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and was excited about his first great-grand daughter that was on the way. The many people he touched and inspired, his many friends and of course his loved ones, will always cherish their memories of him and will miss him greatly. Left to remember him are his wife and high school sweetheart of 55 years, Bonny, his son, Jody Allbright (and wife Jenifer), his daughter, Dee Dee Allbright (and Mike Trocko), his granddaughters, Kelsie Keith (and husband Hunter), Tori Stanley (and husband Josh), Madison Allbright (and fiance Bryce Parker), and grandson Ty Allbright. Johnny also leaves behind his brother-in-laws Billy Friedrich (and wife Bobbie) and David Friedrich (and wife Zoe), nieces and nephews (Ben Friedrich (and wife Amber, daughter Kennedy), Jake Friedrich (and wife Amber, son Eli), April Friedrich (sons Jovaughn Friedrich, Titus James, Antiochus James and daughter Octavia James), Talia Washington, Kelly Allbright (wife Jessica), Tony Allbright), and many other cousins, great nieces and nephews, and very dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Marcilene and Kenneth Allbright, his little brother Bill Allbright, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Nelson and Ruby Friedrich. Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis Tx on November 9, 2023 at 2 pm. Reception will follow at the Allbright home. Visitation will be on November 8, 2023 from 5-8 pm. Private Burial for the immediate family will follow Friday at the family Cemetery in Freyburg, Tx.
