Thomas Mackinnon Obituary

Thomas Dwyer Mackinnon, 68, passed away on April 21st, 2023 at his home in Lewisville, TX due to an unexplained health event. He was born on September 12th, 1954 in Madison, WI to Robert Mackinnon and Nancy Mackinnon. Tom graduated from The University of Colorado with a degree in Chemistry/Geography in 1978. He later received an MBA from the same university. Tom Mackinnon was known for being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Football was a large part of Tom's life. He played for the Golden Buffalos at CU and later went to play for the Denver Broncos. Tom was a very skilled cook. It was always a joy for him to feed others with one of his amazing meals. He was a patriot and proud veteran who enjoyed reading, golfing, and socializing with his many friends. He and his wife Cindy enjoyed going to BJs Brewhouse each Friday where everyone they knew always had an open invitation to join. He will be deeply missed by the community he and his wife built together, friends and family from all around the world and from all walks of life. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cindy Mackinnon, his step-son, Robbie Knox, his grandchildren: Isaac (3), Noah (1), and his brothers: Bill, Steve, and Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nancy. A visitation/memorial service in memory of Tom Mackinnon will be held on Friday May 5th, 2023 at 2pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S Edmonds Ln. in Lewisville.
