Nancy Lynn Fitch, 53, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away on February 5, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1970 in Woodstock, Illinois. Nancy is survived by her mother Linda Nulle; her siblings Mike (Tracey) Fitch, Pam (Umesh) Berry, David Fitch, and John (Mary) Fitch; her nieces and nephews Eric Fitch, Hannah Fitch, Jason Berry, Adelle Fitch, Maddy Fitch, Autumn Fitch, Katelyn Berry, and Nicole Fitch; her kitties Fitz and Floyd; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nancy was a longtime volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, leading builds and interviewing prospective families. Nancy worked as a claims specialist at Zurich Life insurance for 20+ years. She was generous and lived life to the fullest; she was always there for her family and friends. Nancy was an enthusiastic gardener. She loved to host pool parties, barbeques, and family celebrations in her backyard oasis. She had an irrepressible enthusiasm for life and will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held February 9, 2024 from 5pm until 8pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152. Visitation will continue February 10, 2024 from 10am until 11am at Marengo-Union Funeral Home. Funeral service to immediately follow.

Gargiulo, 96, of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully, January 31, 2024 Viola was born April 20, 1927 the daughter of Giovanni and Philomena Izzo, she married her husband Albert Gargiulo June 19, 1948. They were married for 57 years before Albert’s death in 2005. Viola was a feisty, funny, sarcastic, strong willed Italian woman. She loved having the kids and grandkids over for Sunday dinner and her famous all fish Christmas Eve dinners. She was the caregiver to many children, including her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and even the children of her nieces and nephews. She loved to make people laugh and was a dog lover. Viola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Carmela (Roger Sanghavi) Gargiulo, daughter in law Janice Gargiulo, her grandchildren, Michael Gargiulo (Michelle), Carly Ritter (Andrew), Melissa Gargiulo and great grandchildren, Mark, George, Max, Eden, Maddox and Lily. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her son Albert, her siblings, Johnny (Fredia), Sammy (Anna), Christine, Rosie, and Annie(Londie) and by her great granddaughter, Hailey. John (Jack) Spencer Mason, age 93, of Lake in the Hills, IL passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born January 1, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Alden and Helen Mason (ne Spencer). Jack graduated from Shaw High School and proudly served in the Air Force from 1949-1952.  Jack married his beloved Josephine in August of 1955 and they shared over 68 years together. Jack was the proud and loving father of Sam (Deb) Mason, Beth Mason and Leslie (Earl) Dorsey and loving grandpa to Sean, Kristen and Ryan Dorsey.  Jack and Josephine relocated to Illinois in 1983 where he continued his career in Sales. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. Jack was very active in his community, volunteering with the local Community Emergency Response Team and helping with the construction of the Lake in the Hills Safety Town. Jack is survived by his loving wife, his children and grandchildren, his sister Isabel Hutson and many nieces and nephews.

Alice J. Cornwall, 88, of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully with family by her side on November 7, 2023. Alice was born May 29, 1935, the daughter of Frank and Genevieve Wojcik. On January 30, 1954, she married John Cornwall, the love of her life. She worked for Schaumburg School District 54 in accounts payable for many years. Alice adored her grandsons and loved spending time with them. Alice had a huge impact on her grandsons and the men they are today. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and gambling at the casinos. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Ron) Murray and John Cornwall III, her grandson Connor; her sister, Barbara (Bob) Seputis; and many loving nieces and nephews. Angelo Porrovecchio, 63, of Lake in the Hills, passed away on October 18, 2023. Angelo was born in Cleveland Ohio on October 22, 1959, along with his twin sister Rose, to parents Francesco and Mary Ann (Madonia) Porrovecchio. Angelo met his soulmate, Nora Mazzola through mutual family. They fell in love and got married on October 28, 1995. Angelo was a devoted husband, father, and uncle. Angelo was a selfless man who absolutely adored his family and would do anything for them. He loved deeply and fully and never held anything back. Anything Angelo did, he did with his whole heart. Angelo was a loyal friend to many and was the first one to show up whenever anyone was in need. He had a great sense of humor, smiled easily, and laughed often. Angelo was a hard worker, and he taught his family the value of a good work ethic. Angelo worked his entire career as a Plant Engineer for UPS. Even though he was a supervisor to many, he was never afraid to roll up his sleeves, get dirty, and work alongside his employees, day or night, until the job was done. In Angelo's spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Those who knew Angelo will miss him dearly. Angelo is survived by his loving wife Nora Porrovecchio, his daughters Sofia (Marko Saric) Porrovecchio, Daniela Porrovecchio, Analisa Porrovecchio, his mom Mary Ann Porrovecchio, sister Rose (Tim) Mansell, niece Madeline Mansell, nephew Nicholas Mansell and his mother-in-law Marianne Mazzola. Angelo is proceeded in death by his father Francesco Porrovecchio. Mass will be held on October 28, 2023, at 10:00 am with an hour visitation prior. All services will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Rd, Huntley, IL 60142. The inurnment will be on October 30, 2023, at 10:00 am at Huntley Cemetery, 10987 Main Street, Huntley 60142.
