Thomas Henry Johnson, age 94 of Warren, passed away April 23, 2019. He was born at home in Detroit on November 8, 1924; the son of Henry Carl and Beatrice Irene (nee Evans) Johnson. Tom honorably served his country for 26 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea. From there, he went on to work as a truck driver before moving on to become a Material Manager at Henry Ford Hospital. Tom was a longtime member and served Christ Community Church in Sterling Heights. He and his wife, Angie, were committed to serving in A.W.A.N.A teaching and ministering to children. Tom had several hobbies including fellowshipping with friends; collecting coins with his friend, Bob; taxiing around his posse, Mr. Bittner and Mr. Loginow; as well as researching astronomy, dinosaurs and WWII Naval ships. Tom enjoyed movies such as; Jurassic Park, Mary Poppins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His favorite musicians were Glenn Campbell, Neal Diamond and the Carpenters. Tom also loved to eat and he had a great passion for ice cream. Beloved husband of the late Angeline for 51 years. Dear brother of Marianne (the late William) Shaw, Betty (the late Robert) Linebaugh and Ruby Phillips. Caring uncle of Paul Shaw, Mark Shaw, David Shaw, John Shaw and Timothy Shaw. Visitation for Tom will be held on Friday, April 26th from 12:30 PM until the funeral service at 4:30 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. Pastor's Kevin McGuire and Alex Loginow will officiate. Tom will be laid to rest beside Angie with a private committal service at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
