Theresa Denise Picone dedicated wife, devoted family member, cherished friend and admired community supporter passed away on October 2, 2023 at the age of 59. Her unexpected passing leaves a void and emptiness in all who knew her. She was a person of sharing and devotion to all who’s lives she touched. She was an accomplished professional having spent 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry holding positions of regional sale manager and executive director of sales training. Upon moving to Tennessee in 2016 she pursued her passion for aqua fitness providing instruction at the county recreation center and at her community pool in Willow Springs. She loved life and enjoyed travelling, golf, hiking and participating in the community women’s organization and ladies golf league. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth and parents Paul and Elizabeth Brennan. She leaves behind a loving family of her husband Gary, step daughter Danyelle Mulcahy, step son Mathew Picone, siblings Kathy & Mark Sortino, Paul & Gerry Brennan, Reverand Thomas Brennan, Eileen & James Sawyer, Patricia & Robert Nicholas, Christine & Donald Schulz, Brian & Anne Brennan, and Rose Palmer. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11AM in the Chapel of Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5-7PM at the funeral home and Saturday from 10-11AM. Theresa’s memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort for the family, friends and community she so deeply impacted.

Carolyn Leggett Overton, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Claiborne and Hughes Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Franklin, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 1:00 P. M. in the Chapel of the Bells First United Methodist Church, with Mauricio Porras officiating, Chase Spradlin reading scripture, and special music provided by Nathaniel, Hannah, Jake Hulme and Claudia Spradlin. Burial to follow in the Belleview Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Bells First United Methodist Church from 11:00 A. M. until the service hour at 1:00 P. M. Mrs. Carolyn was born in Bells, Tn on September 20, 1947, to the late Bernard Clifton Leggett and Annie Floye Norville Hulme. She was a member of the Bells First United Methodist Church and worked many years at the Renasant Bank. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 10 years: Eddie Overton; one sister-in-law: Claudette Hulme; and one grandson: Eddie Cole. She is survived by one daughter: Anna O. Cole (Matt) of Franklin, TN; two brothers: Curtis Leggett (Marsha) of Bells, TN, David Hulme of Gallatin, TN; She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren: Christian, Cannon, Eleanor and Coen. James "Jim" Wesley Parnell, Jr. age 75 of Franklin, TN died suddenly and totally unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 due to the seeming results and complications from extreme weakness due to the combination of a-flutter and Eliquis (blood thinner). Thank you especially to the large group of Williamson County EMS that provided their expertise to try and change the outcome. He was born in Memphis, TN to the late James Wesley Parnell, Sr. and Florence Glenn Parnell. He attended grade school and high school, graduating in 1966, from a recently begun private school sponsored by the Church of Christ. The school was Harding Academy in Memphis, TN. He served in the Army Reserves for six years, and his draft number was #23. He was a graduate of Freed-Hardeman College, David Lipscomb College, and the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he received his law degree. Jim practiced law for 25 years in Franklin, primarily doing real estate work and representing utility districts. Jim was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ, and unquestionably believed in the Lord. He enjoyed archery, boating at Center Hill Lake, camping, canoeing the Ocoee and Harpeth rivers. He also enjoyed gardening on Stillhouse Hollow Road in Hillsboro, which now has become "Historic Leipers Fork". Jim had a good sense of humor and could easily entertain you. He is preceded in death by his younger sister, Sandy J. Parnell Hamlet. Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Shipley Parnell of Franklin, TN; sister, Carolyn Parnell (Dwight) Sturm of Parkersburg, WV; brother, Ron (Virginia) Parnell of Atlanta, GA; brother in-law, Roger Hamlet of Manchester, TN; four nieces, four nephews and several grand nieces & grand nephews. After years of courageously living through stage four cancer, Eddie Ladd Jackson, 69, of Franklin, TN, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Carolyn (Humphrey) at his side on December 3, 2023. Born March 31, 1954, to Sarah and George Jackson, Eddie lived a rambunctious young life in Franklin, TN, with his three siblings Robert, Jewel, and Vianne, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby. He met the love of his life, Carolyn, as a young man and did not delay in asking her to be his wife. Eddie and Carolyn married in 1972 and built their life together in their hometown of Franklin where they raised two beloved children, Candy Sakarapanee (Steve) and Eddie Jackson, Jr. (Heather), and where they enjoyed hosting and celebrating four cherished grandchildren, Sebastian, Logan, Trip, and Rhett. Known as a dedicated and trustworthy man, Eddie enjoyed working with his hands. His career began with framing houses before he worked his way to produce manager at Kroger in Franklin and Brentwood. He then spent most of his time at the Nissan Motor Manufacturing Plant in Smyrna as a shift leader; turning down management positions several times because he, "didn’t want to fly to Japan. " After accepting an early retirement package from Nissan, he later retired with the TN Department of Transportation in Franklin. Eddie enjoyed spending free time with family and supporting his children and grandchildren in their various pursuits. His favorite vacations were at the beach with sand between his toes, family by his side, and water as far as the eye could see. He delighted in collecting foreign currency that would accidentally find itself in circulation around town. He coached Franklin Cowboys Football and Bethesda Recreation Basketball. He taught himself to play the guitar and led music and worship services at Franklin Free Will Baptist Church; where he also served as a deacon and raised his family to love God, the Church, and its people. Eddie was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. He will be remembered for the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, full of love for those who went before him and those who remain, and full of faith in the God who saved him many years ago. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; children, Candy Sakarapanee (Steve) of Mt Juliet, TN, Eddie Jackson, Jr. (Heather) of Franklin, TN; grandchildren: Sebastian Sakarapanee(Kathy), Logan Sakarapanee, Trip Jackson, and Rhett Jackson; sister: Vianne Heithcock (Doris); his Aunt Pearl Espinoza as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sarah Jackson, and siblings Robert Hornburger and Jewel (Hornburger) Savage. A celebration of life will be held at 5pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Ave. Franklin, TN 37064. Sue Houser, born Sue Ann Slauson July 8, 1936, passed away December 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Houser, her brother Peter Slauson and parents Lawrence and Alberta Slauson. Sue was born and raised in San Francisco, California where she loved the temperate weather, ocean views and rolling fog. She was thrilled to have attended Washington High School with Jonny Mathis, who was one year ahead of her. Sue was a talented artist and teacher. She graduated from University of Oregon with a Masters in Art Education. It was there that she met James Houser. They married in 1958 and lived in Eugene, Oregon before moving in 1961 to Jim’s hometown, St. Louis, Missouri. There they began a family and Sue began working as a high school art teacher. Sue also had a small business: SASH inc. , producing batik, sculpture and silk-screened art. Her children have wonderful memories of trips to various parks to share Sue’s love of nature and feed many flocks of ducks and geese. She was a devoted member of Parkway United Church of Christ, remaining in contact with members even after her move to Nashville, TN in 2018 to be closer to her children, Eric and Carole (Bartoo). Sue’s family is grateful for loving care she received from the staff at Bethany Center for many years, and then for a brief time at NHC Cool Springs where she won the hearts of many excellent care partners, Nurses and other staff. She is survived by her son Eric Houser, her daughter Carole and son-in-law Jim Bartoo and granddaughters Emma and Grace. A visitation will be held from 4:00PM-6:00PM Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund.Show more
