Theresa Foreman Obituary

SUNSET ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Theresa Loritta Foreman, age 90, who passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Carpenter House in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Pastor Anthony Polotzola of First United Pentecostal Church in Opelousas will officiate at the services. French music during the wake will be performed by the Foreman Family. Mrs. Foreman, born January 5,1933, was a native of the city of Rayne, a resident of Lafayette Parish for over 60 years, and a resident of Sunset since 1997. She worked at the Trappey's Plant for many years, and also at the Lafayette Parish School Board. She was a member of the first Pentecostal church in Opelousas where she played guitar in the music section. She also was a member of the band "The Foremans", which played Gospel French music. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Lee Foreman, Sr. and his wife Linda; Jackie Joseph Foreman and his wife, Melanie, all of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Lisa Stroud and her husband, Edward, Derrick Forestier and his wife Barbara, Shelly Forestier, Bobby Foreman, Jr. and his wife Jenny, Tina Foreman, Chad Forestier and his wife, Emmie, Tonya Baudoin and her husband, Michael, Ashley Irvin and Erica Gwin; nineteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; one brother, Clarance Broussard and his wife, Audrey Mae, of Biloxi, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufas Foreman, one daughter, Theresa Foreman Berry; her parents, Stanislaus and Anita Broussard, and her sister Dorothy Lee Lirette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a. m. until 9:00 p. m. Tuesday and will continue from 9:00 a. m. until service time on Wednesday. Pallbearers will Derrick Forestier, Sean Forestier, Austin Johnson, Luke Foreman, John Thompson, and Bobby Junior Foreman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of Theresa Loritta B. Foreman be made to the Carpenter House. Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N.
