Theresa M. Althouse, 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Ralph J. Althouse, Jr. , with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Buckley) Winkler. Theresa graduated Albright College (Class of 1955) with a degree in home economics. She married Ralph on September 3, 1955 and devoted herself to her family. She made her home a warm and welcoming place with the arts and crafts she lovingly created. "Tess" will be remembered for carrying on a Christmas Stollen tradition for many years. She also enjoyed cards, whether partnered with Ralph to play bridge at the Berks County Bridge Club or beating her grandkids at Shanghai. Left to cherish her memory are husband, Ralph; son, Kurt Althouse (Allison) of Wyomissing; daughter, Terri Ness (Robert Murray) of Reading; grandchildren: Andrew Althouse (Meghan), Daniel Althouse (Amber), Katie Ledwith (Drew), Jamie Drenning (Zachary), Tyler Conway (Nathan) and Craig Ness; and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Catherine C. (Shemansky) Keck, wife of the late Earl A. Keck, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Martha (Greis) Shemansky. Catherine grew up in Stowe and graduated from St. Pius X High School. She worked for many years as a secretary at Valley Forge Army Hospital in Phoenixville, where she met her husband, Earl. Catherine was very active at the West End Fire Company, where she served as a secretary. She was a member of several local organizations including St. Gabriel's Lodge, Holy Trinity, and the Knights of Columbus. Catherine enjoyed playing shuffleboard, crocheting, bingo, and baking. She loved watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, and Dateline. She was also a faithful member of her church, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother in Stowe. Catherine is survived by her daughters; Martha "Marty" Krupiak (husband David), Kathleen Parks (husband Daniel), Peggy Lee Levy (husband Natan), Patricia Norwood (husband Russell), a brother, Joseph Shemansky (wife Nikki), thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 11 a. m. at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, 127 Howard Street, Stowe. Visitation will be prior to Mass from 10 a. m. till 11 a. m. in the Church. Burial will follow Mass in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Pottstown. Michael "Mike" Mandich, 39, passed away unexpectedly. Born in Reading, he was the beloved son of Annette Heydt and the late Keith Mandich. Mike attended school at Governor Mifflin and went on to specialize in welding. He enjoyed being outdoors, riding dirt bikes and e-bikes, four wheeling, fishing, and cooking. Mike also found joy in visiting flea markets. In addition, he attended church. Above all, Mike cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his charming smile and his love of the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition to his mother, those left to treasure his memory are his step-father, Douglas Heydt, Jr. ; step siblings, Jennifer Good and Douglas Heydt III; aunts, Marianne LeBlanc, partner of John Eisenbise, and Linda Cucinotta; step-aunt, Alison Wilkins; uncles, Francis McCaul and David McCaul, wife of Barbara; cousins: Francis Morrissey III, Matt LeBlanc and Jaqcqueline LeBlanc; and a step-cousin, Courtney (Wilkins) Hoover. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11 a. m. A viewing will be held from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Justina L. Campbell, 94, formerly of Bern Township, passed away during the late hours of Thursday, November 23, 2023, in the care of Phoebe Berks. She was the widow of David H. Campbell, who passed away July 30, 2014. Her parents were the late Thomas W. and Dorothy V. (Chapman) Hirschbiel. Justina is survived by her daughter, Mary Patricia, spouse of R. Bruce Mayhugh, of Knoxville, TN; sons: David of Miramar, FL; C. Frederick, spouse of Teri, of Williamsburg, MI; and Dennis, spouse of Robin, of Leesport; grandchildren: Kristin (Ian) Good, Kyle (Rosemarie) Campbell, Sara (Cody) Bachman; and Katie Campbell; great grandchildren, Luke, McKena, Theodore ("Teddy"), and Eloise; and her sister, Lorraine Bangert of Ft. Wayne, IN. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffery; two sisters, Mona and Jacqueline; and her brother, Gordon. Justina's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the endless list of individuals who met her, befriended her, knew her, shared life and laughter with her. Know that she appreciated all and often remarked that you were "angels on her shoulder". Kevin Galczynski, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his residence. He was the devoted husband of Donna (Stoudt) Galczynski. They tied the knot in May 1985, sharing 38 wonderful years together. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Walter and Stella Galczynski. Kevin graduated from Reading High School, and went on to join the U. S. Navy for 4 years, spending most of his time in the Mediterranean on the USS Stanley. After leaving the Navy, Kevin enjoyed life on the road as a truck driver, making many trips up and down the East Coast and then worked as a bank security guard before retiring completely. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music from his massive CD collection, and doing yard work outside the home he and Donna built in 1988. Kevin will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh and his lack of a filter in front of friends and family. In addition to his wife, Donna, his memory will be cherished by his sons, Tyler Galczynski (Courtney Ashley) and Griffin Galczynski (Samantha Trostle); grandchildren Peyton, Brycen, Madilynn, and Reece; siblings: Arlene Galczynski, Ellie Falco, Jeannie Hurter, wife of Sal, Lynette Stevens, wife of Robert, and Jerry Galczynski, husband of Denise. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Stella; 2 brother in laws: Harry and Craig; and his mother in law, Ruthie.
