Thelma Hernandez Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, LA for Thelma Sonnier Hernandez, 92, who peacefully passed away at 6:40 a. m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Rayne, LA. with her daughter by her side. Deacon Byrne Wynn will celebrate the services and the burial will follow in the Saint Joseph II cemetery. Visitation may be observed Friday from 10:00 a. m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p. m. Mrs. Hernandez was born August 18, 1930 in Rayne, LA to Ursin and Olivia Simon Sonnier. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved dressing up and coordinating her outfits with jewelry. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and doing all sorts of crafts. Most of all she loved her family and everyone she came into contact with. She is survived by her daughter, Linda H. Billeaud and her husband, Paul of Ragley; 3 grandchildren, Jeanne' and Teddy Alleman, Paulette and Scott Knox and Victoria and Jeff Roach; 7 great grandchildren, Alexandra Savoie, Natalie Stelling, Katherine LaBonte, Holly Louviere, Paul Knox, Wyatt Roach and Reagan Roach and 6 great-great grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Harrison, Eleanor, Landry and Isla. Mrs. Hernandez loved her nursing home family at The Ellington of Rayne, and the family gives special thanks for their loving care.
