Thelma J. "Betty" Beckwith, 86, of Lewistown and formerly of Reedsville, passed away at 9:09 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Ohesson Manor. Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Larimer, Allegheny County, she was a daughter of the late Jess W. Sr. and Emily (Huffer) Mowry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Ronald L. Beckwith Sr., on Sept. 24, 2011; a brother, Jess W. Mowry Jr.; and her sister, Louise Stiffler. Betty is survived by: her children, Ronald L. Beckwith Jr., of Milroy, and Karan L. Marker and husband, Richard Jr., of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Natalie Beckwith, of Milroy, Erica Yurasko and husband, William, of Va., Allen Marker III, of Snow Shoe, and Monica Marker, of Harrisburg; five great-grandchildren, Alston, Paul and Derek Marker, and Will and Michael Yurasko; and a brother, James Mowry and wife, Judy, of Lebanon. Betty was a 70-year member of First United Methodist Church in Lewistown and the Golden Rule Sunday School class. In her earlier years, she worked at Royale Dairy where she met the love of her life, her husband Ron. She later worked at Fisher Electronics in Milroy and lastly, at Dank's Department Store. Betty was a loving wife and mother who lived for her family. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, April 27, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at Noon, with Reverend Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
