John Liebnau
Age - 86
November 15, 2023
Surrounded by his loving and devoted family, on November 12, 2023, John Edward Liebnau, 86, gracefully returned to the light to join his Heavenly Father. The son of Frederick and Mildred Liebnau, John was born in Toledo, Ohio, attended DeVilbiss High School, served in the Naval Reserves, and made an impact as a loyal employee who retired from Conagra Foods. John was a determined soul, with firm resolve, who never lost heart. As a three-time cancer survivor, he was a beacon of hope to his family and friends, and lived an inspirational life dedicated to the divine qualities of perseverance, compassion, and courage. For over 38 years, he had the honor of sharing his journey with the love of his life, wife, and best friend, Karen Lovelady-Liebnau. They spent their time going to music festivals, symphonies, NASCAR races, mountain adventures in national parks, and attending their grandchildren's sporting and commemorative events. John dedicated his time to raising and providing loving guidance and caring support to his six children, Jill Liebnau, Jodi Wint (Wes), John Liebnau, Jordan Lucero (Gwen), Jennifer Beyer, Jessica Saez (Doug), and nine grandchildren, Cameron Walter, Carly Walter, Donald Lucero, Dacoda Lucero, Dylan Lucero, Allie Saez, Kayley Saez, Myah Saez, S. Caleb McFall, and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lucero, Emma Lucero. He was deeply inspired and proud of all they had accomplished and optimistic for their future endeavors. His other loves included black licorice, Pink Floyd, Dale Earnhart, German Chocolate Cake, Ohio State Buckeyes, being on the lake with his family watching the boats go by and playing a rousing game of croquet on a perfectly manicured lawn. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Alton Liebnau, and sister, Ruth Brandt. To all who are inspired to read John's obituary, remember, "when you go through deep water, I will be with you" Isaiah 43:2. It is the quote that most embodies John's belief in his Savior and his firm resolve. To his family and friends, know that John was deeply grateful for your presence in his life, and continues to watch over you, pray for you, and is hopeful you make the best of your earthly journey. Do your best to overdose on love and laughter, and keep searching for what you are looking for, you will find it. Memorial donations in John's honor can be sent to Schoolcraft Memorial Homecare and Hospice, Manistique, MI. A Celebration of Life to honor John's spirit will be held in the Spring of 2024. Fausett Family Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of John Edward Liebnau, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store.
