Terry Shouse, 70, of Columbia Tennessee, formerly of the Quad Cities, passed away, October 1, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center Visitation will be Sunday October 8, 2023, from 3 p m to 5 p m at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd Moline Private burial will take place at Pleasant View in Hartley, Iowa Memorials may be made to A Soldier's Child (www asoldierschild org/) Terry was born on May 21, 1953, in Hartley, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Lois Terry attended the University of Iowa and most recently worked as a retail store manager He previously worked for National Foods, Eagle Foods, and Eagle Country Markets, and had also been employed by Congressman Bobby Schilling Terry enjoyed music of all kinds and had an extensive vinyl record collection He loved to travel and spend time in the mountains Terry was an active member of Wildwood and Edgewood Churches Terry spent the past six years in Tennessee with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons He was actively involved at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church as well as many charities, spending much of his time helping others Survivors include his children Jereamy Shouse and Sherri (Jeremy) Smith, as well as his grandchildren Tayler and Kaitlyn Shouse, and Elijah and Ezekiel Smith He was preceded in death by sisters Kathy and Sheryl Shouse, brother Gary, and parents Wayne and Lois Memories may be shared on the tribute wall To to the family, please

Terry Spencer, 81, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 4, 2023, in Allure of the Quad Cities, Moline, Illinois. Visitation is 9:30 a. m. to 10:30 a. m. on Monday, December 11, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a. m. , in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. A funeral luncheon will be held at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the service. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to The Gathering QC, Moline. Terry Eldon Spencer was born November 8, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois, to Eldon and Helen (Hedrick) Spencer. He graduated from Southern Illinois University and did biochemistry research at the University of Illinois and the University of Georgia. He married Lois Sabol on June 13, 1998, in Rock Island. He was self-employed at Eldon Spencer, Inc. , a fuel trucking company. He belonged to the Bicycle Club and Black Hawk Hiking Club, volunteered with Youth Hope and Habitat for Humanity locally and in Louisianna after Hurricane Katrina; and did missionary work at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. He was an avid tennis player accumulating many medals, taught himself to string tennis rackets, and enjoyed running marathons, motorcycles, traveling with his wife in their RV, fishing, boating, and spending winters in Arizona. Terry is survived by his wife, Lois Sabol; two children, Joby Spencer of Boulder, Colorado, and Meghan Daniels of Sylva, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Spencer Robinson and Tristan Daniels; and siblings and spouses, Judith Marshall of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, Elizabeth and Jim Saelens of Hampton, Kathi and Jim Myers of Pedricktown, New Jersey, and Ron and Jeannie Spencer of Camas, Washington. Caroline W. Fleming, 93, formerly of Moline, IL passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Caroline Warfield Fleming was born on February 1, 1930, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Clark and Clara (Hardin) Warfield. She was raised in Moline and attended Denison University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She received her degree in Psychology after transferring to the University of Southern California. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Moline, Garden Club, Bridge Club, King’s Daughters and a 74-year member of PEO. She was an enthusiastic hostess for her clubs as well as family holidays. Caroline raised four children, volunteered at their activities and supported her husband’s career, moving to Horicon, WI and Waterloo, IA before returning to Moline for their retirement. She enjoyed spending winter holidays in Sarasota FL. She summered at Sylvan Beach, Michigan for 80 years, playing tennis, hosting family gatherings and enjoying Sylvan’s social events. After the death of her husband, Caroline moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Susan Schuler of Sarasota, FL, Mary and Scott Francis of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, William and Sufia Fleming of West Palm Beach, FL, David Fleming and his fiancé Jacklyn Headrick of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren, Jillian Schuler and her husband, Walter Beer, T. J. Schuler, Bobby Francis and Sarah Francis. Caroline was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert S. Fleming. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p. m. with a service at 1:30 p. m. , Monday, December 11, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Home, 701 12th St. , Moline, IL with the Rev. Duane Lahti officiating. On Thursday, November 30, 2023, Marks life was taken from a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Celebration of Life gathering to honor him will take place at the Celebration Center at Mississippi River Distilling in LeClaire, Iowa, on Saturday January 6, from 1-4pm. Cremation will take place prior at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, Illinois. Mark was born October 14, 1958, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Robert and Dot Dorr. Kingsport, Tennessee was his hometown, attending Lynnview and Dobyns-Bennett High schools. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at The University of Tennessee, and he was a proud Tennessee Vols football and basketball fan. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and retired in September 2017. Following retirement, he started a fun part-time job at Mississippi River Distilling in LeClaire. He started upon their opening in 2010 and remained there until November 2023. He loved his MRDC family second to none. Mark was a kind, funny, and genuinely caring person! Throughout life, the friendships he made lasted a lifetime - particularly with childhood friends in Kingsport. Mark lived with integrity, honesty, and kindness. His hobbies included studying the history of the music that he loved and grew up with, woodworking projects, fine cars, and playing guitar at home. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed maintaining a beautiful yard and home. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Dorr, who passed in 2022, and his brother, Todd Dorr. His legacy lives on in his wife and lifetime love of 17 years, Cathi Dorr; his sons, Robert Dorr, and Daniel (Megan) Dorr; their mother, Lynn Kingman; Marks mother, "Dot"; and his sister, Lisa Whitlock. Marlene Ray Wheeler "Toosy" passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023. Per Marlene's wishes, no services will be held at this time; cremation rites have been accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. , Moline is assisting the family. Toosy was a lifelong resident of Hampton, IL. Until her final years when she lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Prophetstown, IL. Toosy was 1 of 7 children born at home to her parents Edward and Gerturde Wheeler of Hampton, IL. Toosy enjoyed visiting her parents and spending time with family and neighbors out under their big walnut tree. In her later years Toosy talked fondly about the special times she spent fishing with her dad on the Mississippi. Marlene married James (Jim) Sears in Babcock, IL and together they raised 2 children, Cindy, and James Jr; they later divorced. Survivors include her children Cindy (Brett) Brill and Jim (Donna) Sears; grandchildren Adam (Megan) Stemper, Landon (Alicia) Sears, Jordan Sears, Leah Sears, Nicholas (Nikki) Armstrong, and Kory Armstrong; great-granddaughter Serenity Stemper; siblings Marvin Wheeler and Donna Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her siblings Helen Coder, Bill Wheeler, Kenny Wheeler, and a baby sister who died at birth. Jane L. Owens, 93, of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday November 21, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at St. Patrick's in Colona. Visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, as well as a Rosary at 3:00 p. m. , at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd. in Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Meals on Wheels. Jane was born on November 20, 1930, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Elizabeth (Wachtel) and George Busenbark. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1948 and married Wilbert Owens on October 20, 1951, in Colona. Jane worked as a clerk at American Air Filter in Moline, IL. She also worked at the Geneseo School Cafeteria as a cook, retiring after 20 years. Jane was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colona, IL and St. Martha's Altar Society. She was a member of County View Gold Club - Lady's League and the Monday Night Mixed League. Jane also volunteered for 10 years at the Mississippi Valley Blood Center in Moline, IL. Jane loved raising her family. Survivors include her daughters Carol Lidholm of Moline, Diane (Jeff) Frank of Colona, Mary Beth (Mike) Slonecker of Silvis, and Betty (Greg) Wadsworth of Silvis; daughter-in-law Lyn Wignall of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; twin sister Janis McGuire of Rock Island.
