"In Loving Memory of Byron Kurt Calhoun Byron Kurt Calhoun, born on July 23, 1957, to Willard and Lola Calhoun of Seminole, Oklahoma, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with his loving family by his side. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Byron\u0027s life centered around family and faith. Graduating from Mason High School in 1976 and attending ORU, he embarked on a 13-year career in the oil and gas industry before joining the United States Postal Service in 1995. Over 22 years, he held various roles within the Post Office and formed long-lasting friendships. In retirement, Byron found joy in home renovations and pursued a career in real estate. Family activities, especially time with his grandchildren, brought him immense happiness. Despite his battle with brain cancer starting in May 2020, Byron remained resilient. His journey led him to MD Anderson in Houston, where he forged connections and later pursued his dream of attending Rhema Bible College upon returning to Broken Arrow. Byron\u0027s commitment to spreading God\u0027s word, his unwavering love for family, and his caring nature will be deeply missed. Whether watching Hallmark movies or celebrating all things Christmas with his best friend and love of his life, Laura, Byron\u0027s impact on the lives around him is everlasting. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Byron is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Brinda and Regina, and daughter in law, Amber. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Laura, son Kurt and wife Katie, son Edward and wife Liz, son Travis and wife Laura, daughter Candice and husband John, as well as his 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Ethan, Aiden, Owen, Paxton, Zyler, Sienna, Tatum, Parker, and Cooper. Byron is also survived by his siblings: Betty, Charles and wife Janette, Ava and husband Bob, Noel and husband Ryan, Ginger, Randy, as well as their families and many loving friends. A public visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Floral Haven Funeral Home: 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, for anyone wishing to come and pay final respects to Byron. Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by ordering through our website or by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any other florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 12:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2023, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Byron\u0027s visitation. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Floral Haven\u0027s Rose Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Pastor Willie Allen officiating. Interment will follow immediately after conclusion of the chapel service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Gethsemane. A reception will be held after interment from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Floral Haven's Family Center.
