Terry Finger, 66, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a valiant 15-month battle. Terry grew up in Powhattan, KS, on the Finger family farm with his five rumbunctious brothers and sisters and overwhelmed parents. Terry attended Powhattan High School, graduating in 1975, and Kansas State University, graduating in 1979. Terry's enthusiasm for K-State was unmatched. Though he was studious, much of his energy was spent cheering on the cats at football games, frequenting the bars in Aggieville, or cruising the streets in his classic Plymouth Sebring. Terry left the K-State campus and started his banking career with Farm Credit Banks in Wichita, KS in 1980 and retired from Bank of the West in 2022. He married his college sweetheart, Patti Wade, in 1983, and together they raised three wonderful children. They enjoyed many years of family camping, vacationing, and of course tailgating at the KSU football games. "Tailgate Terry" and "Party Patti" had to show their children how to properly cheer on the cats! However, they only had a 66% success rate of recruiting those kids to K-State, because somebody had to go to KU (though her father still loved her). Preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Agnes Finger. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Finger. Children, Meagan (Justin) Moody, Philadelphia, PA; Ashlynn (Kyle) Loschke, Elizabeth, PA; and Blake Finger, Wichita, KS. Grandchildren, Grace and Theo Moody and Leena and Caroline Loschke. Siblings, Wayne (Vickie) Finger, Fayne (Vicki) Finger, Dale Finger, Brenda (Justin) Weih, and Janice (Tim) Schroeder. Visitation, Wednesday, September 13th with family present from 5pm-7pm at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary, 10515 W. Maple St, Wichita, KS. Funeral service, Thursday, September 14th, 11am, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st St, Wichita, KS. A luncheon/reception will take place immediately following the service at Eberly Farm, 13111 W. 21st St, Wichita, KS, where people are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Terry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Victory In The Valley (Cancer Support Organization), 3755 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67218.
