Luis Ramon Ruiz, III, 38, of Edison, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.Born and raised in Edison, he was a lifelong resident, graduating from Edison High School Class of 2003. He studied Computer Science and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in 2019. Luis was a Senior Software Engineer for UKG, Branchburg, NJ for the past five years.He was predeceased by his sister, Jessica Marie Ruiz, his brother and best friend Michael Ruiz, grandmother, Claire Sullivan, grandfather, Luis Ramon Ruiz I, his aunt, Joan Breen, uncle Jimmy Bolten and uncle, Ronnie Eskin.Surviving are his parents, Luis II and Lisa Ruiz of Edison; his brother Alberto Ruiz and wife Ashley of Edison; grandmother, Gloria Ruiz of Florida; aunts and uncles, Diane Bolten of Virginia, Sharon Eskin of Edison, William Sullivan and partner Karen Zuber Lodato of Edison, Milly Ruiz Ressler and husband Tony Ressler of Branchburg, Yolanda Reyes of Florida, niece and nephew Michael Ruiz II and Jillian Ruiz and many cousins and friends.He loved being intertwined with the great outdoors spending most of his free time hiking, kayaking and flying drones. He frequently brought his adored nephew Mike and niece Jillian along for his adventures. A computer geek he once built a 5 ½ tall Tetris wall with a wireless controller. He was always willing to help and solve any techie questions. He loved and had an extensive collection of Chuck Taylors that he sported often. He was a music enthusiast and connected and related the most with rap. He enjoyed spending time with his close knit family and amazing circle of friends that he knew loved and supported him unconditionally.Luis posted this quote on social media when he graduated from Rutgers and his family would like to share. “Don’t do it to prove the non-believers wrong do it for the people that have been rooting for you from the jump.” He followed it with his own words. “I have so much love for the people who supported me even when I didn’t deserve it. From my family to those who gave me their sincere encouragement I am forever grateful.”The visitation will take place on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 5-9pm and Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 10-11am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt.27), Metuchen.The interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.

Frank W. Gorbe, 70, of Edison, passed away on Thursday February 22, 2024 at home. He was born in New Brunswick and raised in East Brunswick and Edison. Frank was a long-time member of the Edison Elks. He worked as an insurance adjuster for CNA Insurance in Piscataway. When he was younger, Frank was a paper boy for the Home News Tribune and he also worked as a bus driver. He always brought a smile to everyone he met. Frank was a loving son, father, brother and friend. He will be remembered as the “Candy Man” by his nieces. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Gorbe; his son, Donald B. Gorbe; father, Frank B. Gorbe and brother, Donald B. Gorbe. He is survived by his son, Frank W. Gorbe; mother, Grace Gorbe; sister, Diane Le Clair and her husband Ronald; along with his nieces, Michelle and Nicole. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 4-7PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10AM at the funeral home. Thomas Joseph Maccari, 82, passed away on Sunday, February 18th, 2024 after a short illness at JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey. Born in Brooklyn to Anthony and Sabina Maccari, he moved to New Jersey with his wife in the 1970s.After high school Tom served in the United States Army and then went on to study at Baruch College where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration.Tom was the Vice President of Production for Queens Litho in Edison until his retirement 30 years ago. During his retirement Tom was able to follow his passions for golf, racing, and the New York Yankees.Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rose, their son James; brothers, Anthony, and William; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.Extended family and friends may gather at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave Fanwood, on Thursday, February 22nd from 4pm to 8pm. Jeffrey DeChellis, 62, of Middlesex, NJ, passed away on February 14, 2024, in Edison NJ. He was born August 9, 1961, in Plainfield, NJ. Jeff started his career while in high school volunteering for the Westfield Rescue Squad in 1978. Over the years, he pursued his passion for healthcare, becoming a Respiratory Therapy Technician in 1982 and obtaining his paramedic Certificate in July 1983. While working part-time at Overlook Hospital, Jeff proudly Co-Owned Union Plumbing Supply alongside his father. He also served in various roles throughout the years, including teaching CPR and ACLS classes, he was a proud Flight Paramedic for the newly created Air Transport Program, AirMed One, and later was a clinical coordinator at Somerset Medical Center and JFK Medical Center. In his later years, he worked as a paramedic and flight medic at Atlantic Health Systems. In 2013, Jeff and Gene Mayer became the first same-sex couple in Middlesex to legally marry. Predeceased by his mother, Joan (nee Brown) DeChellis, and father, Anthony J DeChellis, Jeff is survived by his husband Gene Mayer and his children, Meagan, Carolanne, Michelle, and Brady Mayer-DeChellis. He will also be missed by his siblings, along with a host of extended relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Thursday, February 22, from 4 PM to 8 PM. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Following a private cremation, burial will take place at Lake Nelson Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
