Teddy Dean "Ted" Lepley Jr , 59, of Butler, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 He was born August 24, 1964, in Garrett, Indiana to Teddy Dean Lepley Sr and Violet (Rowe) Lepley In 1983, Ted graduated from Prairie Heights High School Afterward, he worked at Counterpoint and later worked for Parker's Cylinder Division, in Ashley He worked there for over 27 years as a plating operator while also doing a little bit of everything Ted liked to travel the tri-state area with his son and dog and had nearly every road in the area memorized He enjoyed going to garage sales and antique stores in search of model and toy cars and Pontiac and Chevrolet memorabilia Salvaging and restoring cars was another one of his favorite pastimes, he was an artist when it came to bodywork and loved being under the hood He never owned a new car, only buying wrecks and used cars He was also quick to use his creativity to entertain his son, like building a woodburning stove that resembled a train Ted valued honesty and fairness, and these values shaped the way he looked at the world He was direct and unafraid to speak his mind Ted never shied away from helping someone in need whether it was a stranger or a family member, and it was especially important to him to ensure that those in his life were happy and secure He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed planning jokes for his friends and coworkers Most of all, Ted was a devoted and loving father who worked hard to give his son the best Surviving are his mother, Violet Lepley of Hudson; son, Teddy Dean Lepley III of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Teri and Denny Schiffli of Hamilton, and Tami Lepley-Bell of Fort Wayne; and his dog, Pepsi He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Penny Lepley-Herber; and a brother-in-law, James Bell A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 - 4 p m Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S Wayne St , Waterloo A private family graveside service will take place at Circle Cemetery in rural Hudson Memorial donations for Ted may be given to his son, Teddy Dean Lepley III to help with expenses
