Ted Jones, age 59, of Talbott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was employed at Norris Homes of Bean Station for thirty- seven years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt and especially looked forward to bow season every year. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey (Jason) Griffith; mother and step-father, Drema and Bob Coulter; brothers, Doug (Karen) Jones of Talbott and Stephen Jones; step-brothers, Neal Coulter of Statesville, NC and Bryan Coulter of Knoxville; nephews, Matthew (Devin) Jones of Whitesburg, Clint Jones of Russellville and Garris Coulter of Statesville, NC; and niece, Sydni (Avery) Wolfe. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the compassionate staff of the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute and Medical Center, University Palliative Care, and Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p. m. Thursday, September 14th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p. m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Friday, September 15th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.

Nancy King O'Dell, age 83, of Morristown TN passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 8. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel R. O'Dell, and her parents, Hoyt and Ruth King. She is survived by her children, Samuel R. O'Dell, Jr. (Cyndi) and Amy Trocchi; three grandchildren, Tyler, Will, and Mia Trocchi; step-grandchildren Sarah, Jackson, and Cooper Bryant. Nancy was a church director, organist, and pianist widely appreciated for her musical talent, compassion, and kindness. Her first role as pianist was, as a teenager, at Midway Presbyterian Church in Decatur, GA. Midway was always her spiritual home and Nancy kept a deep faith for all of her life. She was organist and handbell choir director for First United Methodist; organist and handbell choir director for Rogersville Presbyterian; accompanist for the Morristown College choir. She substituted as organist and pianist for many community churches, and played for countless funerals and weddings. Nancy was an enthusiastic member of WSCC's Community Chorale for many years. She was a proud graduate of King University and was active in alumni events as long as she was able. She was a member of WSCC's Foundation and deeply valued her and her husband's connection to the college. Her first and best love was her husband Sam. She was the family's mother and grandmother and cherished her children and grandchildren beyond compare, but was also "mom" to many and her love for children was always present. The family will hold a memorial service at Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 12, at 2:00. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Shipley Cemetery in Bristol TN. "Whitney Anne Dixon-Mason died peacefully in her home on December 2, 2023 with her husband, mother and sister by her side. Born September 17, 1969 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital, she attended West Elementary, Meadowview and was a 1987 graduate of Morristown Hamblen High School East. Whitney was an undisputed sweetheart, a beloved friend to many, and always there when needed. Her strength was her spirited soul, she always approached life with steadfast loyalty, leaving a deep impact on many, while creating unbreakable bonds with those she held dear. Whitney\u0027s dependable nature made her an anchor in our lives and a constant source of support that we could always count on. To her close friends and family, truth was Whitney\u0027s ally; you could always rely on her quick wit to add flair to any conversation and you never had to wonder what she was thinking. Whitney\u0027s heart was truly good and her impact on others was profound. She was an animal advocate, a daughter, a sister, a partner and best friend; crossing the metaphorical rainbow bridge, her kind heart and gentle spirit will be deeply missed. If all dogs (and cats) go to Heaven, it's guaranteed she's sitting in the middle of all of them! She is preceded in death by her father Wayne Ashley Dixon, maternal grandparents Ralph and Anne Charles, paternal grandparents Elmer Dixon and Catherine Dixon, brother Joseph Dietz, and brother in law Shannon Mason. She leaves behind her husband and partner of 26 years Shane Mason, mother Dianne Charles Dietz, sister Allison(Randy)Giles, special niece and nephew Davy Anne and Dawson Ray, aunt Alice Westmoreland, aunt \u0026amp; uncle Janis and Richard Dixon, aunt \u0026amp; uncle Susie and Harlan Dixon, special cousin Erin Roth and her brother Jonathan Mays, her very best friends "The Crew': Kelly Monday, Tonia Hale, Connie Craig Carrol, Donna Adams, and Nikki Bise. In laws Barbara(Mark) Roach, Tammy(Chris)Nelson, Shawn(Tonnie)Mason, Casey(Jason)Garret, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more loving family and friends. She also was the proud Mama to 9 felines, all she considered children. Whitney\u0027s love and care for animals was obvious to all, always on a quest to find homes for the homeless furry companions.
