Ted W. Forsythe, 75, of Lewistown, passed away at 5:55 a. m. , Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1946, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Caldwell "Ted" and Lorna (Musser) Forsythe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Keila Waite. Ted is survived by: wife, Susan (Pannebaker) Forsythe, whom he married in 1968; sons, Ted "T. J. " Forsythe, and Scott Forsythe and wife, Melissa, both of Lewistown; grandchildren, Brittney Harkness and husband, Taylor, Madyson Forsythe and Landon Forsythe; great-grandson, Liam Harkness; and sister, E. Jayne Young and husband, William, of Williamsport. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1964, and a 1966 graduate of Penn State University-Altoona, where he earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Ted was a member of Granville United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 203, Granville Hunting Camp, Mifflintown Airport, U. S. Coast Guard and was a cub scout and 4-H leader. He worked in various occupations and for many employers during his lifetime. In his younger years, he did excavation work, hauled scrap and repaired equipment. Employers included Westinghouse, Penn State, Fosselman's and Snyder's Appliances, Standard Steel, as Chief Executive Officer of Granville Wagonmasters Inc. , Noerr's Garage, and drove tractor trailers for many years. Ted was an adventurist. In his early days, he enjoyed rodeoing, caving, hunting in the western United States, flying his airplane and sailing his boat. After retirement, he took life at a slower pace and especially loved when his grandchildren came to visit. A memorial service will begin at 11 a. m. , Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Granville United Methodist Church, 1346 North River Road, Granville, with Rev. G. Edward "Ted" Corcelius officiating.
