Taylor Percy Obituary

P. Anthony 'Butch' Taylor, 82 of Charleston died on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospice, Charleston. He was born in Charleston 1940 to the late Percy C Taylor and Marion Webster. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School and was a graduate of West Virginia State College. He was a lifelong member of The Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Charleston. In addition to his parents, Percy was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce White and brother, Dr. Edward 'Frank' Taylor. He leaves behind sister, Gwendolyn Simms and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Charleston with the Very Rev. Father Donald X. Higgs officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
