TAMMY CARPENTER Tammy Joyce Carpenter, age 60, of Steens, MS, passed away June 21, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Mrs. Carpenter was born January 8, 1962, in Calhoun City, MS, to Nancy Collums Hatton of Columbus, MS, and the late Willie Clyde Lucius. She attended Lee High School of Columbus and worked for many years as a store manager at several convenience stores in Lowndes County. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roxey Carpenter. In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughter, Shannon K. Penberthy of Eutaw, AL, brothers, Jeff Lucius of Columbus, MS, and Michael Lucius of AL, sister, Donna Ellis of Steens, MS, and grandchildren, Felicity Lucius, Glenn Stacy, and Brittany Hudson.
