Sylvia Euto Obituary

Massena, NY. Sylvia A. Euto age 79 passed away peacefully at home on Saturday September 2, 2023 surrounded by her family, in the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews Street Massena, NY. Born in Massena she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Eurto) Giovannone. Sylvia was married to the late Garth Euto for 58 years. She worked for the Massena Central School District Food Service Program from 1973 until retiring in 2000. Sylvia was very active. She belonged to the Massena Badminton club, played softball and enjoyed snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and boating on the St. Lawrence River. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and never missed a baseball or softball game. Sylvia was an active member of the Moose Club as well. For the last 22 years, she would travel to her home in Zephyrhills FL, to spend the winters where she had many close friends, in Ramblewood Park. Sylvia will long be remembered for her infectious smile, her unique and contagious laugh, and her ever-growing love for her family. Sylvia loved to play cards, put together puzzles with her family, holler at Garth to turn NASCAR down, and cook a mean spaghetti Sunday dinner. Sylvia's years of cooking, experience was reflected in her legendary homemade bread. Each loaf was a sought after treasure by family and friends alike. Sylvia is survived by two sons and two daughters; Cynthia and Phillip DelNero of Virginia, Kevin and Dana Euto of Massena, NY; Craig and Maxine Euto of Triangle VA; and Samantha Kormanyos and Dennis Lynch of Massena. She is also survived by one Sister Nancy and Kenneth Plumb of Glenn Falls, NY. She is survived by 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Sylvia was predeceased by her daughter Terrilyn Euto, Sister Linda Euto- Chappele, Brother Kenneth Freeman and a son-in-law Mark Kormanyos. ,Family and friends are invited and may call at the Phillips Memorial Home on Friday September 15, 2023 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 10am at the Phillips Memorial Home. Burial will take place at the Massena Center Cemetery immediately following the Funeral service with a luncheon to follow.
