Robert G. Cyprus of Springfield, Tennessee passed away peacefully Monday, February 19, 2024, after a brief illness. “Cowboy Bob” as he was known to most, was born on September 21, 1935, in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the American School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1953, and entered Cornell University, graduating in the class of 1957 with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics. While at Cornell, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and played on the varsity polo team for four years. In August 1957, he married his college sweetheart Jo Anne Eastburn. After serving for three years in the U.S. Army Reserve at Ft. Bliss, Texas, he began a 30-year career as a special agent for Prudential Insurance Company in El Paso, Texas where he and Jo Anne lived for 40 years while they raised their three children. During this time, Bob pursued his lifelong love for horses and polo as a member of the Paso Del Norte Polo Club. In 1995, he moved to Springfield, Tennessee where his business card listed him as “Old Retired Guy/Gentleman Farmer/Horseman”. Bob was a member of the Montgomery County Trail Riders Association and New Chapel Men’s Club. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a covenant member of Fifth Avenue Uniting Church. On a typical day, Bob could be found riding his horses through his back pastures, sitting on the back patio in the sun, and eating a bowl of ice cream. He is preceded in death by his mother (Erica), father (Kip) and brother (Norman). He is survived by his wife of 66 years Jo Anne, his three children Robert Bruce Cyprus, Thomas Clayton Cyprus (Tawni), Elizabeth Cyprus Anderson (Mike), and his five grandchildren Lexi Sisk (Casey), Chandler Badcock (Matt), Laurel Callaway (Jack), Allie Cyprus, Tripper Capps. Carole Jean Williamson, 83, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday February 9, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 16th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Kat (Smiley) Mercer, Wanda Mason, Steve Sorrells, and Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery with Josh Williamson, Justin Williamson, Tyler Williamson, McKenzie Williamson, Carter Mason, Tommy Williamson, and Todd Williamson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Williamson and Cora Ann Williamson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Ms. Carole was born February 27, 1940, in Chapel Hill, to the late Herman and Margaret Jordan Robinson. She was a graduate of Forrest High School in Marshall County, and then went on to receive her master’s degree in teaching from Middle Tennessee State University. She was a retired school teacher with the Robertson County Board of Education, and was teaching at Greenbrier High School at the time of her retirement. Ms. Carole was a sports fan, especially baseball and was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers and the Nashville Sounds. She worked part time for the Nashville Sounds when they played at Greer Stadium. Ms. Carole loved antiques, auctions, fashion, shopping, and entertaining. She was the former head of hospitality for the Bell South Senior Classic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Timothy R. “Tim” Williamson, and by her brother: Tommy Robinson. Ms. Carole is survived by her loving husband: Randall “Randy” Williamson of Springfield, by her sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas R. “Tommy” and Tammie Williamson of Greenbrier, Todd and Misty Williamson of Springfield, by her seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, and by her devoted caregiver: Kat (Smiley) Mercer. Mr. Speer served on the Board at Timothy Hill Childrens Ranch in Riverhead, NY, and was an Elder at Amherst Church of Christ in Amherst, NY and at Stamford Church of Christ in Stamford, CT. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Springfield. In addition to his parents, Mr. Speer was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Speer; sister, Rosanel Speer Payne; and son-in-law, Peter Dunbar Salter. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jody Speer; sons, David Lynn Speer and partner Fay Hallmark, and Daniel Glen (Linda) Speer; daughter, Cynthia Diane Salter; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Heller and Floyd Robert Heller, Sr also of Newton, NJ Diane was a graduate of Newton High School, living in Newton most of life. Diane and her sister Gloria moved to Springfield, TN in April of 2009. Her sisters, Gloria, Marjorie Armstrong, and Dorothy Fuller preceded Diane in death, along with her brothers, Floyd Jr and Donald.
