Susan Mumaugh Obituary

Susan Elaine Mumaugh, 71, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Sullivan, MO, passed from this life May 7, 2023. She was born July 16, 1951, in Bethesda, MD, to Leonard and Marie Mumaugh. Susan graduated from Glendale High School, in Springfield, in 1969. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1973, with a BS in Elementary Education. During her career, Susan was a Reading Specialist and Fourth Grade Teacher at Sullivan Elementary School in Sullivan, MO. After retiring, Susan moved back to the Springfield area. She was a long-time member of ECKANKAR, the spiritual path she walked with God. Susan was always so willing to serve, whether it was at a worship service, with a study group, or helping out at a fund raiser. She joyfully gave of herself with love and touched many people with her kind words, encouragement, and wisdom. Susan was a shining example of Love in action. Susan was also a member of TOPS and she supported many animal rescue groups, always surrounded by her adoring pets. She is preceded in death by her father, Leonard E. Mumaugh; mother, Marie E. Mumaugh; and her brother, Dennis Mumaugh. Susan is survived by her good friend, Richard Long; and many other special friends. At Susan's request, no formal services are planned. She just asked that you keep her in your prayers and meditations. Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
